Re: KEEPING IN TOUCH ON FORUM

Hey Bec, Sue, K98 and Fuzz, nice to see you all still about.

Really nice to know that the welcome is just as warm after having not posted for a long time as it was when I first joined BE. Still have to catch up on so many posts; it could take a while!!

Re: KEEPING IN TOUCH ON FORUM

Just thought I would pop in and say hello, and hi to all the newcomers, seems like forever since I last visited BE. I am still on the wagon, fell off a few times since I last posted, but thankfully nothing too serious. Still living at my parents, still no job, split up with my OH but without the alc...

Re: KEEPING IN TOUCH ON FORUM

Hi Guys, Just thought I would pop in and say hello (if anyone remembers me!), as I have not been around for ages; lots of new members by the looks of things. I am doing well, sadly still job hunting but have a few interviews coming up so fingers crossed one of them will turn into a job offer. Abstin...

Re: SOS - Post here if you need help (NO GENERAL CHAT PLEASE)

Thank you all so so much for your kind words and support. Not feeling great right now; I got invited out on a girly night out this Friday and really wanted to go as I feel I am at a stage now where I realy need to start living again instead of hiding away from people, but on speaking to my dad he sa...

Re: SOS - Post here if you need help (NO GENERAL CHAT PLEASE)

Ok, I did not kick the cat, and I did not have a drink; close call though. I really do think a lot of it is because my parents and OH want me to quit so badly that when it comes to being on my own I get to think for myself and wonder if it is really what I want? It is, but on my terms and not theirs...

Re: SOS - Post here if you need help (NO GENERAL CHAT PLEASE)

Ohh, kick the cat, that sounds like fun! Im okay I think, just every time I am on my own it really does occur to me that I could have a drink and no one would know (bar myself obviously)! It is just sometimes I do feel forced to stop by my family and not necessarily because I want to. Obviously I do...

Re: Do you want to say "I haven't had a drink today" ?

Bec, Underbelly is great - did you watch the first series? We had it posted over from our family in Oz and we loved it. They are now taping the second series for us, so we will eventually get to watch it! Enjoy! Don't know if you have ever watched the series "The Wire" but it is a bit like an Oz ver...

Re: SOS - Post here if you need help (NO GENERAL CHAT PLEASE)

Ok, Im struggling now, first time in months I have actually been left alone and I am so tempted by the fact that "I could" go and have a drink and no one would know. No cravings for it at all, just the fact that I could. Im pretty sure I won't do anything just hate this feeling. I am nearly at my ai...

Re: The Confession Parlour...

Hi Digg, sorry you are feeling so low; maybe go back to little "hoppettes" and just take it one day at a time? I know I have given up setting goals as felt too much pressure and gave me a reason to drink ie. I will never make a week so may as well just give up know type thinking. My OH spent the wee...

None for me either, my OH got back from his night out in London at around 3.00pm today and he really does stink of stale beer, its not nice at all! Thank god those days are gone for me!

Re: NEW MEMBERS - PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF HERE

Hi Firefly, Welcome to BE. I too am in a similar situation and after losing my job Sept last year, have had to move back in with my parents due to lack of money and have had to admit I have a problem with drinking. They have been very supportive although when I have slipped I know what you mean abou...

Re: The Confession Parlour...

Hi Momma K,

Really sorry to hear you are not feeling your usual self. We all have bad times, but we can get through them without needing to turn to drink however tempting it might seem. You know you can do this.

I will give ugly fat butt a good kicking for you right now!

Re: The Road to Abstinence

Thanks LOL, Fuz, Yeah, it was very difficult deciding on what to do this evening; on one hand, I do need to get out and about again and feel that a really good night out without drinking would have been a positive step, but, on the other hand, I also feel that my OH needed a good night without the a...

Re: The Road to Abstinence

Hi All, Have not posted for a while as generally I have not been too bad. Felt quite low a week or so ago but went back to see my Dr and am back on Citalopram again, and it seems to be helping a lot at the moment; have been on them before but was still drinking so don't think I have ever really give...

Re: SOS - Post here if you need help (NO GENERAL CHAT PLEASE)

I can very much relate to that, if my OH came back with wine to "reward me" when I had made a concious decision not to drink over the weekend I would be extremely mad; the madness would then likely turn into a craving no doubt; I know it is hard, but pouring it away would really be best. Going for a...
