Re: The 1 Year Milestone

I never ever want to be like that again, I had to reply to those words, so I actually had to learn how to use the quote feature thanks to some friends  I've been having some difficulties lately, and I was having trouble finding the right words to reenergize. So thanks for that. It's not so mu...

Re: General Support and Chat

Hi, could someone tell me how to insert a quote from someone's post into a new post. I have a Samsung touchscreen and can't seem to get the job done. (w) ... add me to the ultimate fail club. I have the nerve to join this group, ramble on for nearly a year, but still too shy to ask for help on a sim...

Re: The 1 Year Milestone

Hi everyone, just rereading the recent posts and it really adds to what is now the ending of Canada Day. Sober!!! Cowboy, good to hear from you, and I appreciate what you are going through. I've had my moments with the holiday summer season, but got through them by remembering what it was really lik...

Re: The Nine Month Challenge

Just a greeting and best wishes to you all doing so well. Don't let the season and extreme weather get you down, just take care and watch what you do. My journey into sobriety started last summer when I had a couple of bouts of heat exhaustion. Too much outdoor work overdressed to protect from bugs....

Re: The 1 Year Milestone

Thank you Sue, there is a lot for me to think about in your post. I think you know me better than I do, but I can see you earned that understanding. Quite a phrase - booze, the love of my life. If I had worked half as hard on other things as I did drinking I work probably be rich, famous, and greatl...

Re: The 1 Year Milestone

Busy few days, but moving ahead. One year coming, not really counting days, but trying to pretend it's no big deal. It was about this time last year that the wheels started to fall off and I had to do something to change. I just did a calculation, at 10 ml alcohol per unit, I was averaging at least ...

Re: The 1 Year Milestone

Just a quick post to say hello, and doing ok. Slow progress on the home front, but my daughter is looking for professional help and if we get that far I think we can work it through in time. Cowboy the coincidences that seem to come up are truly incredible. I have a phrase I have used many times in ...

Re: The Nine Month Challenge

Hawaii Five-0 Mooths! Many more to come. Different time zone, I know. There's Internet time, Einstein's time, GMT, etc., but sobriety time runs slowly, pleasantly, and for a long time! Best wishes ... :)

Re: The 1 Year Milestone

Hi all, thanks for the comments, they really helped. Also the other posts on the thread as there is a real supporting power in the words and experiences of others. Thanks Shadowlad and Cowboy. And SB, nice to hear from you. I always look for your posts around the site, they always have some really h...

Re: The 1 Year Milestone

Just a hello to all. Still sober, but some personal issues at hand. I actually feel hung over, but I have been running a bit of a fever over the last week. In retrospect, drinking when there are problems is like napping in the middle of the freeway. You might not get run over but the odds aren't goo...

Re: The 1 Year Milestone

It's not a down post Cowboy, you are thinking and seeing clearly and that's how you get through the tough parts. More than that, it's a sign that you are winning and leaving addiction behind. Look at it this way, if you come out of an operation that saved your life, you may not feel great, but you'v...

Re: The 1 Year Milestone

Good for you Cowboy on getting through this tough patch, tomorrow is another day. Rest and food can make a tremendous difference and I find there is a letup when moving to a new challenge. I think that it why I seem to put off posting at those times even though I am on BE quite often. Its literally ...

Re: The 1 Year Milestone

Greetings folks. Just a hello. Its a little weird not drinking at this time of the year, but I guess I've been saying that for over nine months now. Thanks God I don't have to try and hide it anymore. That may have been the more depressing part of drinking, because I think I always knew it can't be ...

Re: The Nine Month Challenge

Just a quick drive-by to say hello and had to comment on how well you all cope with tough times. I've been pretty lucky this year so far, even though I still have to watch my habit of looking for things to worry about. Really, I think every day is a milestone, and I'm thankful for that. Fiz, emotion...

Re: The 1 Year Milestone

Hi everyone, I guess I'd like to join you here, but I always seem to get confused when moving to a new challenge. I don't like it when they end because they are so comforting and secure when you are happily in the middle of one and doing well. Congrats Cowboy, well done. And well done on dealing wit...
