Re: The 1 Year Milestone

I don't pop in often but I am still here, and still alcohol free. :) I might be taking antabuse to scare myself off it, and still having dreams of drinking all the time, but I haven't broken. My thoughts are with you all, may you be strong and happy and proud <:)>

Re: The 1 Year Milestone

I have a wicked addiction to Maltesers :) and been going to see movies to get out of the house, so of course you need the extra big box at the movies, lol. Yep, too much sugar is bad, but at least it doesn't make me spend the next day in bed drinking 3 litres of water and moaning. One thing I wanted...

Re: General Support and Chat

Hi Pickles and Rachel. I haven't been seriously tempted to drink since I started on the antabuse. It scares me off any serious consideration of it. The dreams are confronting and I feel disappointed with myself when I wake up, but I think it is all too fresh and so I'm exaggerating their importance ...

Re: The 1 Year Milestone

Hello everyone :) It's day 101 here and I have been feeling good. Unfortunately rediscovered my sweet tooth! Thought I would drop the extra weight after stopping drinking so much, but I will need to cut down on the chocolates now. Still, it is not as bad a habit for me. Hope everyone is feeling good...

Re: General Support and Chat

Thanks you guys :) It is great to have 100 days behind me. I am thinking of some way to celebrate, like a nice dinner at a restaurant or something. I have started spending money on other things already, I did use to spend at least 50, 100+ some weeks on drinking. I got a new computer, and things lik...

Re: General Support and Chat

Hi everyone :) Been quite some time since I logged in. I am still sober, in fact it is 100 days today. This is wonderful but at the same time I have been on antabuse for that time and I worry about what happens when the doctor decides it's been long enough and I don't need it any more. I still regul...

Re: The Two Month Challenge

Hello, day 31 here. I am still feeling pretty tired most of the time but sleep has been an issue for me since I can remember. My doctor is continuing the antabuse for 6 months then reviewing whether I should stop it. Also has increased the anti-depressant medication I am on as it is meant to help wi...

Re: The 4 Week Challenge

Hello everyone, The night of day 22 here. Getting hungry waiting for the oven to heat up. Have something to look forward to this week- going away for the night Tuesday to stay at a place with a saltwater pool and sauna :D Staying with a friend from high school who is still in touch. Last time we did...

Re: Three Week Challenge

Well, time flew by the last couple of days and now it's 1am here on Sunday morning ..and so technically an hour into day 22  I have gotten fatter I think, but not stressing too much about that. Not feeling too great last couple of days because of unrelated stuff- I have a sore wisdom tooth an...

Re: Three Week Challenge

Hi everyone :) Day 19 and it has been just beautiful, all overcast and mostly raining lightly all day. It is my favourite kind of weather, especially this time of year when it is just beginning to cool off and easy to get warm. Don't like it when it is really cold but this is nice 'snuggling up with...

Re: Three Week Challenge

Day 18. Feeling pretty good here, bit sleepy this evening. Had a nice long soak in the tub today, read half a book. May be becoming a chocolate hoover, but head is clearer than it has been in a very long time. and enough time has passed already that I am beginning to feel like a new person, a distan...

Re: Three Week Challenge

Day 17. Time seems to be going quickly! Soberfun the vitamin supplement St. John's Wort is meant to help with moods. Some other herbs and vitamins like valerian might help too, but you should research it and consult with your doctor about whether it would help you personally. I've been on antidepres...

Re: Three Week Challenge

Hello everyone :) Day 16 Tried to stay up all night and day after waking up at 5:30pm yesterday. Sleep pattern needs a readjustment. But ended up deciding to have 'a little nap' at 10am today and woke at 5pm. Oops. So that was a fail but otherwise doing ok. Guess I will try again tonight to stay up ...

Re: Two Week Challenge

Hey everyone. Day 12, nice afternoon here. Sideshow you are so right about the site, I am 'really not social' (to put it more accurately, mildly autistic) and dreaded the thought of even trying to go to a group in my area. It would not have helped me to have to go through the usual panic attacks abo...

Re: Two Week Challenge

Hey everyone, hope your day has not been too stressful. ;)? Day 10 draws to a close here. Head growing clearer and thankful for the lessening of guilt feelings. It was always the worst part of hangovers to me, not remembering what stupid things I had said or done the night before. And an incentive t...
