Re: The First 7 Days

Hi Dolphin

Nice to meet you and good on you for coming back. I've been having terrible withdrawals, but I am so thankful to have just got over the worst. This is day 3 for me.

Hey Will, I hope you're doing ok. If you have slipped come straight back mate.

Re: The First 7 Days

Thanks Nicky for your advice <:)> Will mate, about an hour ago I thought the exact same thing "I can't do this". And being honest I wanted to drink to escape from how horrid I feel. I was thinking it through and at that moment I didn't care about the after effects of drinking again, I just wanted th...

Re: The First 7 Days

Will try and hang in there, it's awful but there's only one way to get it to stop permanently and thats to hang on. I had lots of drinking thoughts just to escape the misery I'm in, but it will only work for a short time and then I'll be back to the terrible withdrawals of day 1 and loads more conse...

Re: The First 7 Days

Hi Will, sorry your finding it so bad mate. I can totally relate to how bad it is, I wish I was exaggerating but I'm not. I really suffer coming off the drink. The mental anguish is unbearable.

Re: The First 7 Days

Thanks Nicky <:)>

I am slowly getting there, got to keep plodding on. Hopefully won't be too much longer until I feel normal again.

Thanks for the love and strength, the battle is horrid at this stage and it is much needed.

Re: The First 7 Days

Same Will, it seems we had similar night last night. The manic thoughts and anxiety were insane. Alcohol has a dreadful effect on our minds and bodies to make us feel like that. I can't wait for this stage to be over, be back to 'normal'. Until then I have to hang on in. Maccy's sounds good Will, it...

Re: The First 7 Days

Hello everyone Zandra thanks for all the useful info <:)> Well done Will, it's not easy so that's some achievement :) What a night I had, didn't sleep at all. Had anxiety and manic thoughts all through the night. Still have the runs which is odd and I've had stomach cramps too. Wow this is unpleasant.

Re: The First 7 Days

I used to just feel thirsty and that was it. Nowadays I get sweats, anxiety, and thirst. Sometimes i will be sick in the morning too. All depends on how hard I've hit it and for how many days I drank for - usually a lot!!! This time I had all of the above plus severe shaking. For me it definitely ge...

Re: The First 7 Days

Sorry GCAL, crossed posts

I think some people would agree with your description, it can get pretty nasty, especially hallucinating, fitting, vomiting, shaking etc what a horrible poison alcohol is

Glad to hear you are doing so well

Re: The First 7 Days

Thanks Nick. Day 2 coming to an end and I'm relieved to have the anxiety ease and the paranoia calm down. I have been here before many a time and the feeling you get from getting past these horrid few days is amazing. Alcohol withdrawal is an insane experience - literally I feel insane at the time. ...

Re: The First 7 Days

Thanks you PJGirl, Trina and ChamomileT for those kind words <:)> I hope you're bearing up ok Will. You sound like I feel mate. It's not pleasant at all. If we can hang in until over the worse then we'll be ok. I feel anxious and my heads still messed up. I'm not liking how unstable alcohol withdraw...

Re: The First 7 Days

I could do with a wind turbine sized fan blowing my way. I know the main reason I'm sweating is the alcohol withdrawal, but I also sweat when I get anxious too :?

Re: The First 7 Days

Ah sorry to hear that mate, is your stomach killing because of the drink? My stomach is not normally too bad after day 1, but I hit it so hard that is still bad today. I'd like to say being in bed is nice, but my head is still up my arse. The drink really messes with your emotions and I have anxiety...

Re: The First 7 Days

Thanks Will mate

It's an absolute horrid thing this addiction. Fair play to you being at work with anxiety - I couldn't do it at all today. My eyes are proper bloodshot and my stomach is turning over. And to think I did this to myself :(

Going to beat this, or it will beat me. Let's do it together
