Re: Beyond the 1 Year Milestone

Hello! Yes, we get to 100 to 110 F here in the summer and it always seems so much hotter here than down on the plains because we are so close to the sun!!!!! Well, not really, but we are 5,280 feet or 1 whole mile above sea level! We are kind of on a wide plateau just below the foothills and mountai...

Hello, Hola, Aloha!

Who is cooking us a Full English Breakfast?

Ok, maybe just a plate of bacon, eggs and hash browns! And some toast with jelly!

Re: Beyond the 1 Year Milestone

Hi Mooths! Glad to see you! Drink dreams! Oh dear, I still have them! My dreams always involve huge amounts of alcohol, shelves of bottles full of the best of the worst! Big tin tubs of alcohol punch! Someone giving me permission to drink! But, the odd thing or maybe the Freudian thing, is that I n...

Re: Late lounge (& other non-UK locations...)

Marigold, you can do it! We all had to climb a few rocks and trudge forward through the fog! Jump in! The water's nice! I wrote a little ditty about the SMART handbook in the New Members thread! Give that a try to get started, The book is very informative and gives you plenty of space to write down ...

Chocolates!

For the first time during the Super Bowl the other day, I saw an ad for the Take Five bar! If you have never tried this candy bar, just do it! Best thing since sliced bread! It is pretty much a take on Snickers with pretzels and the salt/sweet is phenomenal!

Jo, good to see you! And all about, :) Good for you, more chickens and ducks! I think you will love a goat! Those kids that hop and skip and jump up on things look like barrel of laughs! And, probably a truckload of work! I have read a few stories about donkeys and they seem like a great animal to h...

Re: New Members - Please Introduce Yourself Here

Welcome Hattie J. Single moms and alcohol! Well, no wonder, what a job it is raising kids on one's own, hard enough sharing with a partner, I suspect! But from all of us that struggled with raising the kids and coping with the effects of alcohol will testify: Pretty sure it would have been a lot eas...

Re: Beyond the 1 Year Milestone

QuadriJ, Dark Shadows was great fun and really quite strange in the time of the 60's! Barnabus, the leading man and at night the leading vampire was charming and quite the ladies man! As well you can imagine! Here we are in a Neuvo Roaring Twenties, suppose Barnabus should make a comeback? Stranger ...

Re: New Members - Please Introduce Yourself Here

Welcome Manga, It is very common to feel sad when giving up alcohol! Because, if good old Al has been with you for a while, he seems like an old friend. You are dumping that old friend and it feels awful at first! You are mourning the loss of an old friend, not a good friend, though, or you wouldn't...
