Re: Personal Goals

SC. I can't be far from where you camped. I'm about a mile from Corfe Castle, a mere 20 minute drive from home. 47% happy? I once described myself, when told I was a man with no emotions, as being quite in touch and that I was generally 85% irritated. They wondered if the other 15% was aroused. Yep,...

Re: Darcy's Fitness and Weight Management Club

Glad it's going well Cswim. Thought about making the session an evening session? Just putting it out there. If you stave it off until the afternoon, why not evening?

Sandy, what's your Fitbit telling you? My sedentary job means 7-8000 steps a day, rather than my aimed for 13000

Re: Personal Goals

Well, last week was 5/2. But quite high units. AF sat and Sun. Had a whisky yesterday. I'll call it a Scottish double. I do measure them, I have a jigger, so 3 units. At 9 pm. The boy. Lost his keys at school. I don't mind the garage key, we have a spare to get cut. The 'Gold' standard D lock that t...

Re: Darcy's Fitness and Weight Management Club

There's no Achilles woes, not yet. I just know when to back it off.

Save the heels for the bedroom? ;)

Duff week exercise, drinks Tuesday and Friday.
Today's weight is 17 7 1/2. Very much a downward trend. Minus 2 1/4.

Re: Personal Goals

My Friday was a poor decision Friday.
This has meant feeling crap most of the day and not going swimming.

On the plus side I went to view the motorbike and now have a Suzuki GSF1250 SA sat in the garage.

Re: Darcy's Fitness and Weight Management Club

Hello MGT. I'm better with a fitness goal (event) to focus on. I'm also a bit of a binary drinker. On or off.

It's always tough after a layoff. That 35 miler I did made the Achilles known, time to back off.

Re: Personal Goals

Work today! A few days at a local place until the other place wants me to start. Boring. But in a good way. I thought to myself, no emails, no whining kids, no issues, no drama. Yes, £8 an hour but do you know what? It's indoors, sat down, not noisy, not smelly, not cold. Just me, some tools and 150...

Re: Darcy's Fitness and Weight Management Club

All day is never good. No exercise yesterday, drank Tuesday. Bad hangover, not experienced for quite some time. So, today some work up the road for a few days. The company I had the interview at want me, just need them to say when to start. Low (like nearly minimum) wage starting point but beyond "t...

Re: Personal Goals

TSM, just a thought but maybe reward yourself for being AF without drink? I was going to the 2nd hand record shop as a treat for sober Friday, spending drink money on vinyl. Also, treating myself to a fry up on Sunday for not being hungover. I know what you mean about abstaining being punishment. I ...

Re: Darcy's Fitness and Weight Management Club

Cswim, in my former job role before teaching, offshore survey work, on vessels, we would often come into port. Dry ships at sea, not so in port. I guess you could say I've been extremely full of piss n vinegar. Still worked with hangover. Towed hydrophone arrays were big 5" diameter 100 meter long s...

Re: Personal Goals

And while I finish that post off, my former head of dept, now at a private school, rings me up to sound me out about about potential roles (not really teaching) up there.

As many colleagues have said, something will turn up.

Re: Personal Goals

Job front. Nagged agency again. Words of the agency regarding the chap recruiting at the place I've applied to 'he's his own worst enemy' . Ditherers. If you asked me what things I disliked at interview, indecision would rank right up there. Anyway, it's not a definite no. So it's a probable yes. 8 ...

Back to work W2B? I wish I could say boo about that. Filled in tax return for last financial year, glad I did, HMRC owes me. Sons second day. I took him there again on bike (his bag was quite heavy today, we gave him some PE kit yesterday hoping he'd deposit it in his locker, nope (w) ) Currently po...

Re: Personal Goals

Cswim, have you done that Cost Benefit analysis? You're right about permissions and excuses. We can all kid ourselves 'I need this, I deserve this', I think it's more 'I want this' but for me into sure if I want the tingle of relief from the first sip or the numbness of oblivion from the last. You'r...

Re: Darcy's Fitness and Weight Management Club

Nope, never heard P n V. I'm smut and innuendo all the time. Definitely bad in some circles (the classroom) Same for me drinking in public. Last New Years at a friends house, positively moderated, relatively speaking. BBQ often seems to be synonym for drink fest I think. 3 mile run today. Oh, and it...

Piss n vinegar? WTF?

Innuendo, you've come to the right place. That practical workshop subject I teach/taught.

Re: Personal Goals

Co dependents? It's going to work better if you're both on board. Me, long time ago, Mrs S would drink most nights, but 1 or 2. I'd get up to 4 beers I suppose. Over years it's gone to 5/6/7. Is it a post work pre dinner drink that's the top of the Helter skelter? It is for me. Big glass of fizzy wa...

Re: Personal Goals

Beaker, I am so pleased not to be back at school. I've had three at lunchtime today. Spread over three hours. 1-4, so I felt like I had a Sunday drink but not wrecked. My only stress is my son. Starts year 7 tomorrow. At the school I was working at. Hopeful for news on job tomorrow. TSM, since last ...

Re: Darcy's Fitness and Weight Management Club

35 miles in the bag! \:)/ Average HR at 134, just over 13mph average so I'm pleased with that. Would have been crap or wouldn't have happened if I'd caved last night. Perhaps keep that in your mind cswim, quality of workout? If your heads full of stuff? Write it down? Plan or just rant? Just suggest...
