Re: The First 7 Days

Day four here. I’m already having a hard time imagining day 5. A few months ago I was so ready to get sober and I did it and kept it going for two months but now I just don’t seem to “want” to. Anyways, I see there are a lot of moms here lately. Just wanted to express that I too understand. On weekd...

Re: The First 7 Days

Starting day 2 here and so exhausted. Worked late late and kids up through the night. I’m okay though. Trying to stay positive. Good job everyone, whichever day you’re on.

Re: The First 7 Days

Hi everyone. I’m back and starting day one on the 7. This lock down situation has really led me back to bad habits. I went two months in the beginning of the year and unfortunately thought I could go back to “normal” drinking. Ha. I need to just start back here and go one day at a time. Best wishes ...

Re: Regrouping

Hi everyone. I’ve had trouble posting lately for some reason. I don’t have many moments to myself with little ones and the OH home from work for the time being. I am back to drinking, just switched drink of choice after being af for two months as beginning of year. I’m back to wanting that drink sta...

Re: Regrouping

Tads, I’m so sorry about your work crisis. The mental health situation where I live is definitely getting worse with more isolation due to Covid. I even feel it myself. Though a lot of people are home and kids home from school, I have to report to work as I am essential. It’s scary times. I can’t vi...

Re: I Will Not Drink Today Because..............

Yes, sg, you do deserve it. I will not drink today because my kids need all my energy this weekend. When I’m sober I enjoy devoting my energy to them.

I’m too tired to drink and know that drink would make me more tired.

Re: Regrouping

I’ve neglected to post lately but wanted to say hello to everyone. Essay, I’m sorry to hear about your OH. It must be terribly worrisome and stressful to know what may await and not be able to do much about it. I can understand it must also be lonely. I hope you are feeling a little better after you...

Re: Sober February

Thanks SB. I did have some time out with a friend yesterday. And we didn’t go out drinking. Another day sober. Many things to be thankful for. Lots of emotions these days that aren’t being suppressed by alcohol. I just keep reminding myself when I am feeling sad and/or overwhelmed that I need rest, ...

Re: Sober February

Hi everyone. Great resisting. I still haven’t drank since nye. I’m not craving it particularly. Just feeling a bit blue. Tension with oh at home. Missing my mother. Praying I do not come down with the awful sickness that’s going around. I’m ready for Spring!

Re: Regrouping

Hello everyone. I’m so glad everyone’s posting. I’ve not had many moments free from sickly little ones and OH to post but here I am. Tads, I’m so sorry to hear of your awful night. I’m glad you posted so honestly about it. I had so many similar nights in the past. None recently but oh I remember the...

Re: Regrouping

Hi everyone. Our family has been stricken with the winter grimy slimy sick. Therefore I haven’t been able to post much this week. I hope this week improves for some of us who seem a bit down. Sleepy, we all know that anxiety so well. It’s absolutely crippling at times. The amazing thing is that redu...

Re: Sober February

I’m nervous to sign up for Feb because I don’t want to fail. I breezed through January for the most part. Haven’t drank since Nye. Is anyone else getting questions from friends and family about when you’re going to drink since January is over?

Re: New Members - Please Introduce Yourself Here

Welcome, Manga. I’m so sorry you’re feeling low. I’ve been here a while but recently turned a corner and I’ve been alcohol free (af) since Jan 1st. You will soon find that everyone here is kind and supportive. We all have differences and similarities in our experience with alcohol. There are many mo...

Re: Regrouping

Oh Swordie, I hope you’ll not let yourself get too discouraged over 500 calories. That’s a candy bar, a bowl of ice cream, etc. Think of it as a blip and keep going. And please stick with us here and keep posting. I’m impressed, as always with all this exercising I’m reading about. I still have plan...
