Re: Meditation

Yes it’s hard when you get caught up in thoughts Isn’t it MH, I can definitely empathise there but As you say, I’m sure practising meditation and mindfulness helps when you get into those loops. It’s definitely a tool I value and wished I’d known about years ago! As well as not holding onto anger - ...

Re: Darcy's Fitness and Weight Management Club

Your al fresco meal sounds lovely freshie! I had a takeaway curry yesterday too at OHs insistence but it was a bit of a disappointment, tikka was tough, sauce bland and broke my diet again today with cheese and pate at lunchtime in celebration of Father’s Day but that was lovely! I reckon you should...

Re: Meditation

Excellent advice there from mountain hare! I don’t think I’m a very ‘good’ meditator, never have very long without thinking, but I now realise that’s ok, there’s no set standard and meditation’s not something you need to really work hard at, quite the opposite, it’s about relaxation. On days where I...

Re: Darcy's Fitness and Weight Management Club

Did you enjoy that Wilson? Yep drizzling here too. 1lb off the scales again, that’s 9lb in total, almost enjoyable as they add up, feels like it’s worth it, although to be fair I’m enjoying my food, doesn’t feel too much of a sacrifice foregoing the junk anymore Dreaded shopping day today and return...

Re: Darcy's Fitness and Weight Management Club

I never did either!
Try drinking 2-3 litres of water/day - I use a litre bottle and aim to have got through one by lunch time and one by supper time.
You may be surprised at the movement on the scales if you do

Re: The Road to Abstinence.

No, I don’t feel particularly worried about flying, although I have always thought planes were filthy things! To my knowledge, being an ex smoker or drinker is not considered a high risk factor for developing Covid 19. I am lucky enough to not be in any of the higher risk groups, so even if I were u...

Re: The Road to Abstinence.

It’s funny, Saturn, I no longer think of life as being hugely different although I suppose it is. Living the way we do seems familiar now. Obviously there’s things I miss and I don’t think I’ll feel comfortable in any enclosed and crowded space for some time but I can see an end in sight, to lockdow...

Re: The Road to Abstinence.

Great reading all Not much time to post this morning Chirpy - I don’t think I would have the patience to entertain the views of Ex hospitalised deluded people whose aim is to have a ‘healthy relationship’ with alcohol, either, and certainly wouldn’t find it supportive. It’s a blimmin drug ffs! You’d...

SG this is my favourite yoga teacher atm. Re: Darcy's Fitness and Weight Management Club

Hey Freshie, weight loss is 80% what goes in your mouth (dirty minds away please :o ), 20% exercise. My experience is that joints take a long time to heal and remain more susceptible to injury and arthritis once youve done them in. Age and excess weight makes for less resilience. Conservation is bet...

Re: Darcy's Fitness and Weight Management Club

Hey fitties Sorry to hear about the injury Freshie :| I’ve eventually stopped high impact exercise because of joint wear and tear but it was a long time coming, things would improve for a while with rest No further weight loss here but sticking with it. 6lbs in 3.5 weeks is ok. Another stone, I’d be...
