Re: Depression, Bipolar and Other Personality Issues.

Felt down this morning. First time in a long time. Perked up now. Keep on 👍👍😎 It’s a long, hard road but things do look up eventually. Even if reality hits again soon enough. I’ve been meaning to post for a while and having read a few recent posts on here am now feeling ready so may pop back in lat...

Re: The Road to Abstinence.

Morning All,
Hope everyone is well.
Things here are wobbly and I’m attending daily meetings to try and stay sober. I’m also seeing an addictologist later this week to discuss alternative ways of coping and was wondering if any of you had experience with Disulfiram or Acamposate?
Thanks

Re: The Wobble Board

Morning all, Apologies for not having messaged before. I had very little battery and have only just got to somewhere with a charging bank. I ended up staying out last night - I couldn’t bear going home. The whole thing came from an accumulation of incessant criticism from my Dad towards me. (I still...

Re: The Wobble Board

I’m having what feels like a massive breakdown and have no one to call or talk to. My throat is knotted and I can’t stop crying. I’m walking myself into the ground hoping I fall somewhere I can sleep and forget everything.

Re: The 1 Year Milestone

Thanks everyone :).
Day 221 has started badly but it’s my last day in the office for a while (holiday calls!) so that’s something to be pleased about! Have a good one 🤗

Re: The 1 Year Milestone

Day 220 and feeling pretty damn proud of myself. I’ve had shed loads of wobbles of late but pushed through and feel so much better for it. Keep it up everyone and remember however awful it gets: this too shall pass.

Re: The 1 Year Milestone

Morning All, Still find reading your posts useful nearly 8 months in. I agree that it’s easy to forget how we got here. Personally, I still struggle with denial and resentment but it is getting better, albeit slowly. Despite these conflicting thoughts and feelings I do accept now that life is better...

Re: The Wobble Board

Anyone about? Currently sat freaking out about a medical procedure (not drink related) that I have tomorrow :(. Wondering if after such a long time without it that one drink would help keep the worry gremlins at bay? If I’ve been so in control for this long then I can control myself tonight and have...

Re: The 1 Year Milestone

i just want to shout that might’ve stopped drinking alcohol, but I haven’t stopped drinking!! You could try hanging your tongue out dog fashion  TC! This made me titter - thank you :). I agree that people don’t tend to offer top ups but I also think that that is maybe subconsciously a respect ...

Re: The 1 Year Milestone

Thanks Sheila. Really getting tired with this up and down stuff. There's a lot more going on than just quitting drinking that's for sure. I've just been self medicating with alcohol so long I didn't even know what I was doing to myself. Now that I am moving further away I am dealing with all these ...

I haven’t had a drink today. @CB - I’ve been reading through some of your recent posts and there are a couple on the milestone board that have really stuck with me. I’m too tired right now but I’ll try and write tomorrow. In the mean time, please do keep sharing. It’s helping me a lot being able to ...
