Re: SOS - Post here if you need help (No General Chat Please

Hey Scottish I've had the tingling fingers etc In my case I worked out in the end it was me mildly hyperventilating which caused it. It would happen when I felt anxious or panicky or stressed about having drank or about having a hangover. I'd guess if it's just an after drinking thing then there's n...

Awww good on you caroline

And don't feel like a drama queen . Anxiety is very real and very horrible at its worst chick . It does take time to calm down your adrenal glands cos they're all sensitive and setting of false panic alarms every two minutes at the mo . You'll get there x x

Re: SOS - Post here if you need help (No General Chat Please

Caroline You'll be okay you know ? I've been where you are with the anxiety and the whirling thoughts and confusion and feeling of fear ( and then more fear because you are scared that you don't know why you felt so panicky). Ive felt like that without drinking too - tis he pits. The guilt from drink...

Re: 5-HTP : For Depression & Sleeping Problems

What an interesting thread

I tried 5 htp and didn't think it made much difference to my mood but during that time I had quite vivid unsettling dreams but didn't connect them with the tablets

Re: Tingle Tingle

I don't really like taking prescribed meds so I don't personally take anything from the GP but a lot of people do and find it works for them so its horses for courses The anxiety was at its worst when I realised I was drinking too much and started to cut down ironically. I think you read so much abo...

Re: Tingle Tingle

For what its worth I have also had the windpipe squeezy feeling every now and then and the brain fog / feeling a bit confused ( hyperventilation related for me in the end) . Tip of the tongue tingles - big tick in that box too . I also run my own business and when you aren't firing on all cyclinders...

Re: Tingle Tingle

Is the tingling completely constant or does it come and go I only ask because when I started examining what I drank and making changes 18 months ago I then developed loads of anxiety symptoms probably from the panic of realising there was a problem On of these symptoms was that even at times when I ...

Re: The First 7 Days

Space - get an emergency appointment Dude .
Withdrawal isn't a battle of wills and its coming across like you think you can deal with this like a hangover

I know everyone said it before but you are well beyond tapering down with alcohol . Get your yellow butt a house call from the GP!

Re: SOS - Post here if you need help (No General Chat Please

Space my dear - the time has come to hop off the merry go round I reckon . You can't have a couple of drinks to relax - youre going to have to find another way to cope or you will lose everything and end up killing yourself . Aa , antibuse , some cbt or other therapy for the anxiety , whatever - jus...

Re: 5-HTP : For Depression & Sleeping Problems

Hiya - by coincidence I was about to try starflower oil for pms ( terrible anxiety just before period ) . Can I ask what side effects you had ? I had a bad experience with st johns...

Re: SOS - Post here if you need help (No General Chat Please

Hi space Could it be time to consider aa or some other non online therapy or support . It sounds like you might be at the point where some contact with people who have come through this would help? Your family are being very helpful taking you in but they're never going to "get" the alcohol thing wi...

Re: Feelings about alcohol after moderation

Thanks for that Lucylu Theres a lot of sense in what you are saying and I think guilty was the wrong word to use initially. It is a sort of a tension and I think I'm working it its got a lot to do with "how " I drink rather than what I drink If I have one drink over what I have planned to or if I dr...

Re: Feelings about alcohol after moderation

Thanks for the responses - its given me some good food for thought Perhaps the feelings may settle over time when I become more confident that I'm not abusing alcohol - just drinking it and perhaps I'll have to reevaluate drinking completely I'll leave this topic alone now as I would hate for someon...

Feelings about alcohol after moderation

I've been a member of BE for a couple of years although I have been more of a lurker the last few months because I've found myself in the place where I've moderated my drinking for a while now thanks to really looking at the way I was self medicating with alcohol with the help of BE. I know there ar...
