Re: is drinking wrecking your relationship with your partner

Oh and he said he didn't like the fact that I don't now trust him where drink is concerned but I said that he'd done it to himself and would have to earn back the trust

Re: is drinking wrecking your relationship with your partner

Hi Well we had a 'talk' and I'm not really sure how successful it was. He doesn't see himself as an alcoholic and in my heart I hope he isn't, I keep thinking that as soon as he gets a job then all this nightmare will be over. I've researched and there are alcoholics and problem drinkers and problem...

Re: is drinking wrecking your relationship with your partner

Thanks Sandy I didn't realise that the SOS thread was for emergencies only. You speak a lot of sense and it helps so much to share my worries. Yes I do drink but socially and lager, I hate spirits and wine as wine gives me a bad hangover and I can't even begin to look at vodka as that was/is my husb...

Re: SOS - Post here if you need help (No General Chat Please

Beyond posting on here for help, no I don't have a plan. As I'm the one with the money at the moment my first step is going to be no alcohol in the house, and there won't be if I don't buy it. We usually meet up with friends on Friday in the pub and I don't want to stop this but possibly that is an ...

Re: SOS - Post here if you need help (No General Chat Please

Thanks Sandy, You are very right, I can't just ignore it. I did try to search for Ninja as you suggested but can't find reference to the e mail. He seems to have had to re register as ninja1 so maybe the references to that have gone?

Re: SOS - Post here if you need help (No General Chat Please

Thankyou for the hugs. If you don't mind me asking, what made you stop/cut down?

To Eie I have thought about Al anon but it all makes it seem to serious somehow. I haven't confided in anyone at all as everyone thinks we are an example of a great relationship (we have been together 21 years)

Re: SOS - Post here if you need help (No General Chat Please

I am not an alcoholic but my husband is and won't admit it. I really don't know where to turn for help. He hides drink from me and lies about it. He is never abusive or hits me and is always apologetic when I find the drink and then doesn't drink (I think) for a while and then I get lulled into a fa...

Re: Supportive Partners

Thank you from me too Julie it means a lot to hear other people's experiences. I had a long talk to my husband last night and he says he can understand how I feel and he will cut down on the drink. We aren't drinking now till Friday when we go out to meet friends in the pub. He says I just have to t...

Re: SOS - Post here if you need help (NO GENERAL CHAT PLEASE

Thank you all so much. I will post back in a week or so to let you all know. I really do appreciate all the good advice. Am just going to relax for now and hope things carry on this way and as someone said leave it until/unless I find concrete evidence. I thought I would just chat tomorrow night whe...

Hi I posted last week about my husband and lots of you replied to me for which I thank you loads and loads. I actually think I should have posted on the relationships thread which I have just discovered but I thought I would update on here first as some of you had replied here. I had a talk to my hu...

Re: SOS - Post here if you need help (NO GENERAL CHAT PLEASE

Hi Thanks so much for all your replies, they have really given me something to think about. I'm still not really sure what to do and am toying with the idea of phoning al anon as someone suggested. Joanne as you rightly say from looking at my other posts, his mum is ill with terminal cancer. She has...

Re: SOS - Post here if you need help (NO GENERAL CHAT PLEASE

Hi I joined in May as I was worried about my husband's drinking. I am still worried. I found bottles of vodka hidden. I know he doesn't do this any more but he does still drink a lot. Is 3 bottles of wine a night but not every night a problem would you say? I would say around 4 or 5 times a week. h...
