Hi Ivan, and welcome ;)?

I agree with everything Danny has suggested and can't add more, but I too love The Imp of the Perverse! I like Poe but I hadn't come across that before. Love it!

Very best wishes and I hope we'll see a lot of you around the forum,
Mark

Ironic, isn't it, that it was called a Chopper, given what it did your chopper?

Re: Just want to share.

Ha ha ha! I think that's why I wasn't allowed one, Newt. Dad, on grounds of cost. Grandad, because he'd read reports in Cycle Shops Weekly (or whatever) and wanted to keep me and my nads in a fit state to continue the family line when I became old enough

Re: Just want to share.

Aww! <:)> I wanted one too - and then a BMX. But my grandad had run a bike shop long before I was born and used to cobble together bikes for me from ancient spare parts. I have very fond memories of them now, but at the time my weird hybrids were deeply uncool compared to my mates' new ones

Re: The Games Thread

  The H okey-cokey. Lord knows I hated that as a child. The 'left leg in, out, shake it all about' bit was ok, but when it came to everyone closing the circle in on one another I used to bend backwards trying to avoid getting too close to the other kids' snotty noses and cheesy breath. It ...

Re: The Joke Page

 (w) Not a joke, really - more a trip down memory lane. The crinkly wrapper and nobbly glass bottle! And I swear it tasted even better back then - more 'Lucozadey', somehow. Probably due a much higher sugar/glucose content, I suspect :D 106532440_964312474022789_2115486688788511785_n.jpg

It was more a "I'm in a shop on my own. A shop that sells alcohol. I could buy some." thought. I'm cross with myself that the thought even arrived.
Don't be - it was a natural thought to have. Be happy instead that your reaction to it was to react against it ;)? <:)>

Re: Mostly Sober

I'm on a family visit (gran'ma bubble) and having a lovely time. I did a solo Tesco shop yesterday, and a drinking thought flitted past. It's almost as though I'm trying to high jack myself. Spit. Not wishing to be facetious, D, but if the fleeting drinking thought returns maybe it would help to as...
