Re: Crafty Corner

I made a very basic shawl a couple of years ago. I wear it A LOT around the house. Yesterday I put it on over my coat as I left for church - and received compliments. And then it goes on the bed as an extra layer.

I love that stitch you've used have to google it.

Re: The To Do List

Morning John you sound as though you've been having a lovely time out and about. Jjjjjjjj not sure I'd compare Anglican Church services with bird life, but you go for it. AJ. An introduction is great. Well done. Have you expanded where you're going to go after the intro? Some operas and musicals are...

Re: Mostly Sober

Apart from the weather, yesterday was fine. 2 lots of church kept me sober.

I've a day off today (there is a shift going, but the more I earn, the more tax I pay. And the more tired I get = more ratty with customers). So I have a gentle plan for today, but pick up speed tomorrow.

Re: Crafty Corner

Love the toys Kim. I started a c2c blanket before Christmas. Whizzed through to half way and needed to learn how to decrease - so put it down over Christmas. It's been a battle of mind over mind, but I picked it up again this week. Just have to put your head down and churn out the stitches. It gets ...

Re: Mostly Sober

Shetland? Can I come too? It's on my wish list. You'll need to tell me all about it (and how you booked, how long for, how expensive!)

Oh, and I slid off yesterday. Saturday was obviously a very bad day!

Re: Mostly Sober

Well. Yesterday, I went to a travel agent and booked a holiday to Poland. 2 full days, 4 nights. We've a fairly heavy itinary planned over the two days. My big problem will be my dog. My neighbours usually have him, but they're away most summer weekends. Thinks (this is painful....). I'm also seeing...

Re: The To Do List

Au <:)> You know what they say. A woman, without a man, is like a fish without a bycicle. I picked up an extra shift yesterday (show how willing I am after a lengthy back-to-work chat). Only to have the same manager haul me out with some paperwork for some work provided telephone counselling. I talk...

Re: The To Do List

Aj. Absolutely right. I always knew I could get him back if I wanted, it's quite satisfying to be proved right, however. I listen to him DRONE on, and think how boring he is. In the old married days, I felt I was the failure because I wasn't interesting enough. When he left, I thought my life was ov...

Re: The To Do List

Morning AJ I hope your mother and sister had a good day. Pickles I hope the cards for your OH are from the dogs. My husband used to have his own business. We appointed a secretary. Within the first week she was tidying his desk, and handed me some Valentine cards "did you want them back?" "Why? They...

Re: Mostly Sober

Thanks Ruby. I mentioned I'd done dry January (lied, I didn't start until 8th) and felt so much better I was doing dry February. I didn't mention how bad drinking had been. My mental health is normal for me. I'm not sure I could cope with drugs changing it. Nurse practitioner - that's who put me on ...

Re: Mostly Sober

Well. Back to work touched on EVERYTHING. Including all the times I was off with a hangover (d&v). As I'm not drinking these days, they shouldn't recur, but I can't share that. Eventually, it's been suggested that I should see my GP (tomorrow as I'm off) about my mental health. I'm feeling mentally ...

Re: Mostly Sober

Hi Cowboy. I never sleep well away from my bed.

Ruby I should leave the leaflets until better weather.

Got to work. I've been off sick for about 10 days - and apparently I need a back to work chat. Colleagues have been off for weeks and not had return to work chats. It's just me (and my paranoia).

Re: Mostly Sober

Morning Do you have to deliver the leaflets at the weekend? Could you not do them today (sunshine in the south)? Well overslept. I was awake until 1am. WIDE awake. And then a disturbed sleep. So I shall have to leap into action and walk the dog before bussing to work. It's one of those sort of days.

Re: Just want to share.

I can relate to that Wilson. I like the buzz I get from vodka. Except I no longer get a buzz, just find myself chasing the idea. I drink so fast, that by the time the buzz kicks in, I'm already 3/4 of the way into being drunk and it's a fleeting high. I've realised I probably won't ever enjoy that s...

Re: The To Do List

Hi Luna I have to admit, I try to avoid changing rooms and all the mirrors. I have one mirror in my house, by the front door, just to give an all over check before I leave the house. I had a situation over the new year, with which I struggled to cope. Alcohol got me through, but I haven't had a drin...

Re: The To Do List

Good for you aj. I dropped out of OU after a couple of years. Done Walked dog. Glorious sunshine bouncing off a calm sea. Quick Lidl shop. Fed animaux and myself. To do 30 minutes gardening. Then out to lunch. This involves a bus, a ferry and a train. Repeat in reverse to get home. Have a good day y...
