Re: The Wobble Board

Also Chineseeyes, Christmas is still a few weeks away. No use thinking about it now. You will be better equipped to deal with that stuff in a couple of weeks. Just be sober today. Predicting the future isn't going to help right here right now. It will bring on permission thoughts though. I'm very m...

Re: Mostly Sober

Tomorrow will be 3 weeks. I'm still going day by day. Today I want to be sober. Feeling very weary. Went for an hour's walk this morning. Sounds longer than the distance covered. We stopped to look at birds a lot. And because I'm weary, I know my resistance is low. However, tomorrow I've a booked dr...

Re: Are you drinking now ?

Haven't we all been there? Walking round trying to put the bottle back. I've occasionally managed to trick my drinking brain, by picking up an AF bottle of something exotic and different.

Keep going. 3 weeks is a week longer than I've done in a long while.

Re: Personal Goals

Do you know, I've tried the counting days, even up to over a year. At the moment, the simple personal goal of Get Through The Day, works for me. I've woken up sober, just have to Get Through The Day.

Re: Personal Goals

SF well done. I've always found it so hard to drink on occasion and to stop on demand. I know you were celebrating recently, so huge congratulations on being able to stop Recently (today especially) I've been having 'just one' thoughts. I know quite well, that 'just one' is the start of the slippery...

Picking up stitches to knit a rib neck band. The first row has gone a bit wrong. The other 8 rows will be fine. Perfectionist says unpick the first row. Tired late at night, flaps a hand and says "it'll be fine." I'm going to leave it, sleep on it, and have a look in the morning.

Re: Personal Goals

Hey Finley. Lovely to see you <:)> <:)> How's the archery?
I'm with Serend. Great set of rules. My biggest problem is drinking on my own. My main rule then, would have to be, no drinking on my own.

I have a list of things to do tomorrow, so I have to wake up sober. Simples.

Re: The To Do List

Haha. I remember making beds 'with hospital corners'. And eiderdowns! Very British. Then in came 'Continental Quilts' - which quickly became duvets. In cold weather, I love the weight of a heavy blanket. And a hot water bottle. And if I can't sleep, I often ask Alexa to play something. I'm usually a...
