Re: The Six Month Challenge

I’ve still got Mr. Koala to buy for Giag. Bit of a cop out but I might just get him fragrance. I put a big order in with Amazon and it didn’t turn up, I’ve complained and they are ‘looking into it’. Grrr, why does xmas have to be such a stress?! Pleased your enjoying the running. I love mo...

Re: The Six Month Challenge

Was hoping the new sober me would be more organised, clearly not… Some things never change. On the plus side, managed my works xmas ...

Re: The Six Month Challenge

Sarah, what fabulous news! Congratulations, you must be very excited :D Redeyes <:)> Don’t know what to say to be honest. It does seem that slips breed more slips. But old Redeyes doesn’t have to be back, it's in your (very capable) hands. Whats the plan then? Do you think you will drink over xm...

Re: Anxiety / Alcohol

Hi Kalou, Without getting meds from your GP, I would suggest avoiding caffeine/sweet stuff, minimising cigs (if you smoke), eating/sleeping well and taking vitamin supplements, especially B vitamins – I use Berocca which you can get from Boots. Meditation is also worth a go! Hope you feel better s...

Re: The Six Month Challenge

Evening people, Huge well done to Giag on the works party ;)? I wish I could only smoke one cig :( since I quit drinking I’ve been chuffing away loads more. I should quit but need all my willpower for the EAF at the moment (an excuse not a reason eh?!) Pleased your having a good time in France Rac...

Re: November General Support and Chat

Morning MH <:)> This may sound like an odd question, but when your trying to be AF are you filling your time with things you genuinely enjoy or things that you think you should be doing to ‘better yourself’? For example the gym, college. Edited to add - I may be way of the mark here as for all I...

Re: November General Support and Chat

It’s gonna take time to get away from the regular cravings MH. I know it’s frustrating, I tend to want it all to be ‘sorted’ now. I’m not comfortable with the idea that I’ll have to manage this affliction for the rest of my life, but that’s the reality I suspect. They say in AA that so...

Re: The Wobble Board

I just "accepted" them as cravings and I lay there and I felt them rise and fall I'm a big believer in 'urge surfing' and it's got me though some difficult times. For me, the worse thing I can do is fight the urge or try and distract myself. It's like what Allen Carr says at the end of his book - b...

Rachel you’ve inspired me to do a Cassoulet tonight, it’s the exact sort of weather for it. Une tasse à soupe ? Deer stalkers are great. I remember my Dad buying one in the US on a family holiday, but it was made of real rabbit fur :o Caused a huge domestic, my mum and sister were appalled and ...
