Re: The First 7 Days

Thanks Kath for the reminder that I did over 100 days in 2015 and felt the best I ever have! Anxiety sky high today after taking pup to vet for spaying, was thinking I shouldn't feel this way on Day 7 of no alcohol as if life should be absolutely perfect if I don't drink!!! A good reminder that take...

Re: The First 7 Days

Really feel for those suffering from anxiety, and alcohol only worsens it, why are we duped into thinking it helps in any way?! Day 6 today, feeling just slightly less foggy. Pain under ribs is a bit less as well.Did an upper body work out at the gym and plan for avoidance tonight is to watch someth...

Re: The First 7 Days

Evening all, hope its been a good day. Made it to day 5 here, completely wiped out. Ice cream helped tonight! On Friday last week OH said if I think all this drinking is such a serious issue he'd give up with me (its like groundhog day!). I know its not his job to stop because I want to. Anyway, he ...

Re: Darcy's Fitness and Weight Management Club

Thanks for the welcome :\:
Is it a Monday weigh in?! I have around 12 pounds to lose, would be ideal if I could go down 2-3 a week.
I have never counted calories but have cut out the wine calories (day 4 AF today) and upped the exercise (gym yesterday and lots of cycling today) so thats a start!

Re: When loved ones drink and you don't

Nicky thank-you so much for your lovely understanding words <:)> I will take your advice and speak to Women's Aid again - I did before but mustn't have been ready at the time. I tend to panic when I realise I will have to take action and then convince myself its not so bad as I am so fearful of chan...

Re: When loved ones drink and you don't

I believe I have reached the end of the road with my alcoholic husband. We have been together for 30 years and the last 10 have centred almost entirely around drinking. He is unpleasant, no company, repeats himself continuously, and every day is like groundhog day with him asking what happened the n...

Re: The First 7 Days

Morning everyone! Well done Spats ;)? Might actually have a look for that report Winkler, but same as you - worries about health are the main thing for me just now. Have had an unexplained injury/pain this year which I suspect is alcohol related, but since I haven't confessed just how much I drink I...

Re: The First 7 Days

Great inspiration here, & AA sounds helpful. Not quite tempted to try it yet but after reading these posts am not as averse to it as I was Zelda so true about the continental drinking, the first time I had a night out in Europe I was in crowd in a nightclub in Italy and a round of drinks was bought....

Re: The First 7 Days

Morning all, brilliant to hear good progress from so many.
Love the feeling of waking up sober, wish that could be my new addiction.
Nearly wobbled last night as well, glad I didn't, that 10 minute rule did the trick.
Have a happy sober wednesday all xx

Re: The First 7 Days

Morning all, Welcome to you Dee :\: Am delighted to have reached Day 5. Woke up happy! Going to try some acid reflux tabs to ease the burning stomach today.
