Re: Social Drinking - or, 'Cutting down'

hi fiend the new pjs sound very glamorous! mine tend to be a variation on my day time clothes - sweatshirt kind of stuff - maybe i should invest in some fancy ones too. well done on being wise about the old lady bottle of wine. and well done on getting a pay rise - you must be doing something right!...

Re: SUPPORT/CHAT/GENERAL OCTOBER 2008

thanks jan

i might get some for my various scars from the summer - where my carpel tunnel was done it still hurts so i can't do yoga - maybe this oil would sort it out.

hi fiend

i just missed you - i tried to get back to sleep at about 5.15am!

hope you are feeling better today. my husband has a dreadful cough too - we are hoping it will go before the 15th as they would have to postpone it if he was ill.

Re: NEW MEMBERS - PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF HERE

hi melv welcome to bright eye! like the others have said, there are lots of us in our 40s with kids on the forum - i am just teetering at the top end of my 40s! - and i think there must be something about this sort of age being where our bodies start to react to what we have been doing to them. i us...

Re: SUPPORT/CHAT/GENERAL OCTOBER 2008

anna so glad you have found somewhere for molly to hang out with fellow hoofed creatures. i don't think you're mad at all. mind you i am the lady who took on a puppy just before her other half had a kidney transplant, and who, as i write this, has builders downstairs and total chaos, so i don't supp...

hi anna

sorry - i totally got the wrong end of the stick. i hope things get a bit easier for you soon. sometimes it all just seems too much to manage. you sound like you are totally worn out.

Re: SUPPORT/CHAT/GENERAL OCTOBER 2008

hi anna sounds like a grim day. was it your eldest who said you were drunk? i suppose starting with that, whether you were or not it really isn't for him to be telling you that in a rude sort of way, given you are his parent. it sounds like he is in a bit of a spin at the moment. i don't know him at...

hi peeps

i have had the restless leg thing - and even more the restless arm thing. at first i identified it with when i took benylin - not very often but easy to narrow down the cause.

Re: SUPPORT/CHAT/GENERAL OCTOBER 2008

i'm just sitting by the fire in candlelight (my son has take up writing scrolls in candlelight) listening to a very sad but relaxing piece of music by albinoni. thankfully the dogs have stopped racing round like nutcases at last - they have been mad today, don't know whether it is the weather or wha...

Re: Good reads, poems and quotes

i love poetry but somehow i never get round to reading it. i enjoyed studying english when i was at school because it made you look at the structure of things as well as just whizzing through them. i suppose that's what i'm trying to do about life really - look more carefully at it and not just whiz...

Re: SUPPORT/CHAT/GENERAL OCTOBER 2008

hi helen i think what you did was textbook - i would probably have yelled at them for stealing my wine! it brings to the fore that discussion about how to introduce kids to alcohol - we gave my son water with a bit of wine in with posh meals from when he was about 10 but as soon as he discovered alc...

Re: Good reads, poems and quotes

hi mike that sounds like a good book. i could do with taking some steps to deal with insomnia. i am more the 'wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep' mould. i suspect this is partly that i am still drinking as it is much easier when i don't. it is a bit of an addiction in its...

Re: SUPPORT/CHAT/GENERAL OCTOBER 2008

hi canary fairy you are brilliant - this sort of stuff is so hard. i saw my friend in bits when it happened to her. seeing the discussion about battery chickens brought back how low she was because she was buying battery eggs when her husband ran out and she is a lifelong vegetarian who has been pol...
