Re: Cooking: good food tips, links & ingredients

Hi All Im glad I found this thread. I am a real foodie and love healthy food. I studied nutrition at Uni. I am overweight but that is from the booze which has been knocked on the head and I am also on a budget so I will share recipes that I make. I made this last night. It is a substitute for sauce ...

Re: Darcy's Fitness and Weight Management Club

I would like to join this thread. I used to be a gym goer and then slowly but surely the wine took over my life. The weight has piled on and I have yo-yoed over the years. A stone off a stone on. Two stone off, two stone on. One stone off two stone on etc. A friend told me just nip the wine in the b...

Re: Liver Disease and Tests

I quit drinking after new year with two, two evening relapses after that. I don't drink during the day, just at night. Over the years my alcohol consumption has increased. I have made the decision to give it up. I have had other motivating factors that have helped me make that decision. Also the win...

Re: The Road to Abstinence

Sending you big <:)> Neil And ;)? for having such a positive attitude. It is very admirable. My Daughter is the same age as your son was. I should maintain a similar attitude as yours because my daughter deserves better than she has seen me in the past. Im very fortunate to have her. Thankyou for re...

Re: SOS - Post here if you need help (NO GENERAL CHAT PLEASE

Thanks, will do. You two have both expressed what I know I should do. The thought of having just two or three drinks scares me so why have the first. Before I read your posts I did some searching on the site. Going to the pub will definately be a trigger I want to avoid. These girls are young only 2...

Re: NEW MEMBERS - Please Introduce Yourself (on the last pag

Hi SB I do think that completely giving up for a period of time is the best thing. You have hit the nail on the head about the control issue. If I decide not to drink at all today, this week, this month etc then I will not be tormented. Perhaps 3 months is an excellent idea. I have just joined weigh...

Re: NEW MEMBERS - Please Introduce Yourself (on the last pag

Hi Everyone Im happy to have found this site. Finally I have found people I can identify myself with. I have been drinking heavily on and off for 12 years now. Sometimes I drink as much as 80-90 units a week. I am 37. I feel ashamed going out because I drink too much and suffer from blackouts. My fr...
