Re: SOS - Post here if you need help (No General Chat Please

You could also get medication from you Doctor to enable you to withdraw safely. I was prescribed Librium.

Re: SOS - Post here if you need help (No General Chat Please

This is pretty difficult. I can only advise what I would do in your situation and that would be to cut down for a couple of days first. Sudden withdrawal can (in rare occasions) cause seizures. I stress again that it is rare, but it can happen (and did in my case). If you wish to taper off (cut back...

Hi Alex,

Pineapple is right - sudden cold turkey can be very dangerous if you have been drinking a lot for a fair time. How much do you usually consume in a day?

Oh dear, you poor thing. Know the feeling - come in and join us in the isolation ward! Plenty of tissues and ice cream. Haven't got the hunky waiters yet, but we're working on it ;) .

Re: Late lounge (& other non-UK locations...)

Still knocking back the ice cream medication. Any excuse and I'm there. Nose resembles a red ball now (very pretty). If it was Christmas, I'd be a good Rudolph stand by! Glad you're healing too Linda. Thanks for the green tea ice cream DINM.

Re: The Six Month Challenge

Woody, I'm no expert, but it seems to me that your Wife could be suffering from Post Natal Depression. Could you get her to see her GP without it resulting in a huge row? The IVF must have been very stressful. Good luck to you anyway and it's great that you've kept off the grog! Well done for that (...

Re: Beyond the 1 Year Milestone

Oh dear, I feel for you Sheila. That must be incredibly tough going and very stressful. Can you not cut the time a bit? Silly question on my part and I apologise. Dementia is a particularly heartless illness. It robs people of their loved ones in a very, very cruel way. A friend of my mum's started ...

Oooooh, I like the sound of gatecrashing weddings - where's me new shoes and hat? Even better if we go en masse and hog the photos. What a hoot (::) (::).

Rollover 1Sun? This calls for 2 tickets.

Well done Woody for staying a booze free zone - so much better in the light of day isn't it? (::) (::)

Have a good day everyone. Sun's not got his hat on, but if I win the lotto it will 'cos I'll be outta here!

Re: Late lounge (& other non-UK locations...)

Moreven all, Coffee on and green tea with lemon for those with a more discerning palate. Feline good this morning (OK, I know, that was really terrible, but it is early). Lot better today. Head's not thumping and throat's cooled down - still NEED ice cream though! Hope you're feeling lot better too ...

Re: Beyond the 1 Year Milestone

Hi Sheila, We crossed. Enjoy seeing your Mother. Difficult when the attention span is limited, but at least you've still got her! I value every moment with mine - even though she drives me nuts a lot of the time. She, luckily, does not have any signs of dementia. It's her body that's giving up on he...

Re: The 1 Year Milestone

Moreven, Hope you enjoyed your meal CJ. I find sometimes, when I don't feel like going out, I actually enjoy those times more than if I'm looking forward to them. Did that make sense? I like "procrastinate" too. It's one of those lovely words that sound the same as they mean. Boris, you're a sweetie...

Re: Beyond the 1 Year Milestone

Hi all, Dull/gloomy outside. I'm propped up with multitude of pillows, tissues and Corrie Omnibus. Went to bed at 8 p.m. and slept like the proverbial log. Thought the night sweats were in the past :( . Obviously did the world of good though as I don't feel so much like death this morning. Right sti...

Re: The Two Month Challenge

Just a check in from me, I am fine, (fucked up, insecure, neurotic and emotional). I won't be drinking, but won't be posting much either until this passes. Hoping to feel better later in the evening, as seems to happen. Know you don't do hugs, but you're having them anyway <:)> <:)> <:)> <:)> <:)> ...

Snoopy, looks like Caroline's gone AWOL - thinks "hope she's getting more ice cream in for us sick notes".

Have a germ filled <:)> from me. Hope you're better soon TC <:)>
