Wobbles are a bit like bumpy roads - inconvenient but short lived and you get along a lot better afterwards <:)>

That coffee percolating on the campfire sure smells good!

Cowboy, love those boots! I had a pair much like that years ago, I wore a hole in the soul, I wore them so much!

Don’t know why I never bought a new pair, guess Birkenstock’s or “Birkies” stole away my feet! I had plantar fasciites after becoming a lab tech and went from a desk job to an “on my feet” job. My feet were in pain all the time, until I got a pair of “Birks” and I was cured!

Today, they have new styles and colors, I want some!

I had a pair - a couple Iroquois. You can't see them in JJs pic but mine had those round brass circles at the ankles.

Funnily enough I had plantar facia or whatever it's called as well. I remember it being so painful getting out of bed. I had a foot doctor prescribe these inserts - much like birkenstocks - and they worked wonders. Incredibly actually. What a relief.

It was a beauty day out on the range and perhaps will set for a spell enjoying the evening breeze.

I think you Canucks sent us down some chilly weather, cuz I didn’t sit out and enjoy the icy breeze tonight! :lol2:

Snow for the next two days, looks like! Not much, but wet, soppy, and that is welcome! We should be seeing some spring green leaves very soon! Such a joy!

I think I am going to try some potted fern this year on my patio. I miss my weed-like fern that I had in my garden out in the sticks! I have more shade than sun, so they should do well. But in pots, I don’t know! Lady fern or cinnamon stick, I think was the type of fern. Guess I will give it a try!

I get sun from the east, but the sun goes down behind the Rockies to the west, so lots of shade in the evening. Wonderful view though! I wish it were less costly to go up in the mountains and enjoy them!

Same here. Up until early this week, I was still hobbling around. This time around (had it years ago too) I found some great stretching exercises on t'internet and they eased it brilliantly ;)?

Glad to hear it TC. Lovin the new avatar btw. Brought a big smile to my face.

Really enjoying my sobriety these days. Hopefully a longer run is in the cards this time around. I had a smile on my face for most of the day and was humming a couple of new songs I am learning on my guitar. Really feeling the old Jim Croce song I Got a Name lately.

Like the pine trees linin the windin road.
Like the singin bird and the croakin toad.

The guy had such good lyrics and such catchy tunes. Gone way too soon. And like most of the good songs the chords are pretty easy to play even with my slow moving fingers. I played as a young adult but family, work, drinking all got in the way. I picked up my guitar again about six months ago and after the pain of reestablishing those callouses it's been a real inspiration for me as I battle with this alcohol addiction. When those permission thoughts come I have one more tool in my sober toolbox and - as we all know - you can't have too many.

So I think I'll just get this fire going, get a nice big cup of hot chocolate, tune up my acoustic and enjoy a nice quiet evening strumming by the fire. Who knows, maybe some folks will come visit the lounge tonight.

Have a great evening loungers.

Singing Cowboy.

Hi Cowboy yes all is ok thank you and hope things are good for you too. My border collie had to be put to sleep a couple of months ago with a brain lesion that made him deteriorate fast at the end. He was 16 and though it was a sad time, i am grateful to have had such a lovely dog for so long. :)

It's going well here Shadowlad. I'm semi-retired and finally after all these years I am working on the project that I was born to unravel - me. Like many in these here parts my early years were not so great. Sensitivity and self care were not a luxury that either of my parents allowed and as a result I endured much trauma during my childhood and it scarred me for life. I have found a therapist who is helping me to unravel the past and get me to understand that it's OK to experience feelings. Not only to experience them but to embrace them without judgement and self criticism. When I am angry I take a pause and and try to experience what I am feeling - as opposed to what I am thinking. I close my eyes and concentrate on where that anger is in my body. Is it in my chest? Is it my face turning red? For me it feels like a nest of angry bees buzzing around vibrating inside of me. So I imagine a smoke cloud engulfing me and a kind of calmness starts to set it. If I feel happy I do the same thing. What made me happy? How do I feel inside. How can I hold on to that happiness? How can I hold on to that feeling. It's not how you think to yourself it's how you feel - inside.

I have used alcohol in my life put out those anger fires. It is like throwing gasoline on a fire. It just doesn't work. I have used alcohol to create or enhance an artificial joy inside of me. That artificial happy feeling is short lived and the consequences are always bad. We live in a world where we are bombarded from birth with the lie that is alcohol. Are you upset? Have a drink to calm you down. Do you want to celebrate? Alcohol will surely make the celebration more enjoyable. Are you sad? Have a drink that will cheer you up. But as we all know in these parts ... it's a lie.

Look at me carrying on. Just got those fingers tapping and couldn't stop. It is great to see you posting and it feels like you are in a really good place. We also lost our Border Collie a few months ago. We had to put her down she was so sick. My sweet wife did the dirty work with the help of the vet. She was a great friend in our lives and is missed dearly. We are not in a hurry to replace her but will eventually.

Take care Shadowlad. It was great to hear from you. I'm not so sure how long I will spend in these parts. I have been hanging around a very long time and although there have been many who have helped me along the way in my search for permanent sobriety BE is not the sanctuary that it was once for me. Big hugs across the Atlantic. Su amigo Cowboy.
