My children have special days approaching. I was thinking it’s my gift to them to be completely sober and present, but really it’s a gift to myself to be able to fully experience their joy and celebration.

Well said Scarlet. My kids are all grown now and living on their own. I cherish the memory of those days when they were younger. More sober time with them would have been ideal but no looking back.

It is CB - does hair too if you like a nice bright red/orange glow. I've ruined a fair few items around the house doing it after a few vino's. Including an interesting cheeto looking face when I fell asleep one time...

I thought this was lovely Scarlet. So pleased for you that you’ve reached a good place in terms of sobriety.

Similarly I was thinking I will not drink today because I want to be present in the moment not in a fog or a blur.

Awesome posts on here this morning and some very good reasons for not drinking - as I I need any.

I will not drink today because ... the advantages of being sober far outweigh the disadvantages. Are there any disadvantages?

I will not drink today because I witnessed a friend who’d had too many this evening and was reminded of what I probably look/sound like when I’m drinking. I’m so thankful to be on the other side.
