Well hopefully, now the migration is complete, there should be no reason for the site to be offline at all. We're on a more modern, reliable server now.

Hi, is there any way to earmark posts that I want to keep to refer back to at a later date, especially when I need further tips without peeps having to go over they have already said some time ago? There are so many good posts that I want to reread but can’t remember where they were.

Thanks ;)?

There isn't a function to do that within the forum software itself, however it can be achieved using your web browser - click on the title of the post you want, and the page will shift so that post is at the top. The web page can now be added as a bookmark in your web browser, and that post will always appear at the top whenever you access the bookmark.

Hello Admin,
I was wondering if there is a thread somewhere to discuss all the different material that we read about becoming AF. I often see really helpful posts saying what one author or another has written, or about different methods for abstaining for example, but they are dotted all over the place in different threads so I can never find them again. Maybe it already exists and I haven't seen it? If not, can we have this?
thanks

There's a book club thread Zelda. Perhaps people could be encouraged to use that?

Hi Danny,
yes I thought of that, but my idea is more to discuss all specific literature about being AF... not just books...
thank you for replying anyway.

Would be good also to discuss which methods we've tried and tested and how's it's been for us (eg AA, Rational Recovery, BE only, etc). The book thread is great, but I went to it the other day to post about (lighthearted) books I'm reading and then didn't want to 'intrude' on it as quite a few of the recent posts are about alcohol literature. Sometimes it's nice just to chat about fiction, etc.

There is a thread I remeber called "just links that would seem appropriate. I will bump it up.

The Just Links thread doesn't cover discussions about different approaches/theories on alcoholism though, it's just links to other websites that might be of interest, not really a place to debate or discuss.Just my opinion, obviously.

Since there's already a thread for discussing the Allen Carr method, might it be an idea to widen that to include other approaches?

Or the rather shoutily titled STAYING SOBER or the less shoutily titled tips and tools to aid sobriety? Both lurking in the depths of page two or three of the general recovery section.

Ps hello Caroline, didn’t see you there, yes, right enough, Allan Carr does have his own thread and probably wouldn’t mind sharing. 8-)

 (::) I do love SHOUTY capitals, SG! Rewritten, it could work: "Keep Calm and STAY SOBER!" And that's an order... ;) :D

Thanks everyone for your comments. The mods are still discussing it, but everyone's contributions are appreciated as it is giving us a good idea of what people are looking for from such a thread ;)?

I may be very behind the times here, but just wanted to say that I love the "first sober date" alternative to "last drink date". Thank you admins and mods!
