Had a bad day today, work in an office and had a couple of visitors and couldn't hear as the buy across was talking across the desk loudly. We have been great mates for 18 months. I said "sorry to ask but I am just struggling to talk to these people" at the end of the day he got me outside in the corridor and went over the top and said don't ever shush me ever again. He was over the top confrontational. I tried to say there was no need for us to fall out and it is just a misunderstanding but he was so worked up. I am dreading going back to work now and overthinking and ruminating. Apparently he has had some bad news today and has been angry but now I feel rubbish .

What a nasty experience, but do try not to take it personally. You weren't rude or unreasonable, he was, probably because he's upset about something and lashed out. If he's a mate you could text him something like "you OK, you weren't your usual self today" or just let him simmer down. He'll probably be embarrassed when he's calmed down.

That's kind thank you x I am ruminating a bit. I would have hit the cider normally but might go into the biscuits and carb up x I have to meet my new manager in Birmingham tomorrow and was hoping to be in a good place x

Definitely lay off the cider, booze only makes these things worse. You'll feel better tomorrow I'm sure.
