Re: Mostly Sober
Going to bed sober, but coughing so much I'm making myself nauseous.

Stayed in all day. Still sober. Trick to coping. Don't buy drink.

Re: Mostly Sober
Thanks AJH.
Life is not fair. I know I had nothing to drink yesterday, but I've woken up with a bad taste in my mouth, and a headache. Grrrr

Re: Mostly Sober
So. I got home from work by 8pm yesterday. I have alcohol in the house, and chose not to drink it. Fairly major decision if it's there, I have been known to force myself - because I Will Enjoy The Experience. Does this suggest I might be growing up at last?

Re: Mostly Sober
This really chimed with me, D. Sometimes we put an absurd amount of effort into drinking, don't we, and end up with scant reward when it would have been far easier just not to have bothered?
Dunno about growing up, but I do know this: let's be selfish in our sobriety - and also gloriously lazy

Well done for not drinking

Re: Mostly Sober
I've had family staying over this last weekend. It has been lovely - but I drank every day I really don't want me to be that person any more

Re: Mostly Sober
Lovely to see you DD, sorry to hear you’ve been drinking. It’s understandable not wanting to feel like that any more. I hope you have a nice sober start to the week x do keep posting x

Morning all. Danny big hugs. Today's another day

Re: Mostly Sober
Sometimes family can be stressful. And for me stress leads to drinking. Hang in there DD. Big hugs across the Atlantic.

Re: Mostly Sober
Ok. Starting another day. I really must start eating more healthy. I have fruit and veg - and then buy junk food. I have work from 11.30, so a proper breakfast (mince pies are calling me), which will keep me going until I finish at 4.30. I must stop myself from offering to stay on - it exhausts me. All sensible decisions. Now to keep them.

Re: Mostly Sober
Starting the new year. Staying in bed. Possibly ALL DAY. Because I can. Because I'm weary. Too many shifts at work.

Re: Mostly Sober
New year. And I've been sober for all of it so far. Mostly because I've been feeling rather sick. My own fault eating junk - existing on junk. Wearing a mask at work. Face skin is bad and the internals have had enough of junk. Fresh fruit and veg is the way forward.

Re: Mostly Sober
I buy the fresh fruit and veg. Then throw it away when it starts to rot. Is this how people lose weight? I feel as though I'm missing a trick here.

I do rather a lot of that too, so annoying, might as well put money straight in the bin. And the fridge gets cluttered with yucky past it’s best ingredients until you do a massive cull. And you always find something horrific at the back of the fridge or in the salad drawer.

Re: Mostly Sober
'Something horrific'. Love that. I have visions of opening my fridge door, and the kraken awakes and crawls out. Tendrils reach for me and squeeze (so that IS how to lose weight. Get it squeezed out like toothpaste).
