Re: Personal Goals

Post by seismic23 »

C'mon Kath, how was the 1/2? I never got under 2 hours on any of mine but I kept going back to the hilly February one.

Work wise, awaiting to see if we're getting a bonus(not likely, pondering where Xmas is coming from) and we await pay rise notice. We have a union man in our small office, think the union is rejecting 2.5% and asking for more. Utilities will go up in February when my fixed deal ends, what I'm spending on fuel is just going up. In any case, having done the sums, I need to up the pension contributions, so I'll pretty much stay the same.

My foreign trips come with extra £££ but there just isn't enough of them.

Argue every day, yes, nice.

This weeks goal. 3 x AF

Kath, well done on your running.
AJH we love going to Bournemouth. Lovely beach. We didn't go in the sea, but saw a few brave ladies going in.
I m like you Leesa re running. 5 weeks is incredible.
Seismic, fingers crossed for your rise.
I managed 5/2 last week. One day 4 pints of ale and one day 1pt.
I m on the novavax trial and it hasn't been authorised yet so we are getting 2 pfizers 8 weeks apart. For some reason I had to go to a Leicester hospital and have my first one there and not to a local place. I went yesterday and they turned away a lot of people. They said they d never seen it so busy. New variant must have encouraged everyone.

Hi everyone

My half marathon was a terrible performance from me! I was nearly last a lot of run:walking, dragging myself round. Oh well it’s better than not trying at all I suppose.

Chat more another time. Very tired today.

I did Bournemouth in 2019 (its on my doorstep). Dragged myself round in 2:18 I think. Horrid wind on the seafront. Pizza in Prezzo after courtesy of tesco.
Anything is better than DNS kath.

Last weeks goal was a fail, no days off. A couple were 'lighter' days at 10-15 units, still high though.
Today will be a day off, I owe it to myself.

Work might get a bit argumentative next week. Some workshop moves that will impact on me and I've not been involved/invited to any meetings about it. I've voiced concerns previously but it seems like they've been forgotten or brushed aside. The nitwits charged with the move haven't even done a scale drawing of the area they're moving into.

73km to do on the rower by 24th Dec. Just over 6km per the 12 days I've got earmarked (Fri sat sun and the first week of the hols, I have 2 weeks for Xmas) eminently doable.

SF, hope the socialising was OK.

Week off this week apart from a few work bits and pieces to do…work Xmas lunch is also this week so bad timing re that.

My goals whilst off are pretty much all to do with getting under control for Xmas preps…house clean, decks out of loft and up, other stuff packed away, presents wrapped including those arriving this week, a few untimely birthdays to sort too, buy and put up/decorate tree, write Christmas cards, pack three bikes away for winter to avoid damp damage, leave one bike out in the driest shed, get in the sea, go swimming in pool and do some walking, running or gym!

Should be doable.

Oh…and no booze!

Hope you don’t end up in any arguments seismic … do extra rowing not rowing!

Failed Sunday but I'm AF today. Need a few more under my belt.

A poor work day, output wise.

Next door has delivered a letter complaining about the dogs barking. Admittedly when they go out beyond midnight for toilets it's a PITA anyway. They generally give a few woofs at the suspected fox visitors.
They used to bark at postie but the gravel path went when the drive was done and I put a postbox on the wall. They're pretty good when we're in, loads better than the last house. Left something to be collected in the porch today, they probably rang the bell, dogs go a bid mad with people at the door.

We're walking them in the evening, confining them to one side of the house, drawing blinds during the day. Inclined to get a webcam just to witness for myself the extent of this ' nuisance'

Pot kettle black really. Their screechy parrots make a right racket.

Well, I managed about 70% of my tasks/goals during my A/L…all Christmas stuff done. Not so good on the exercise front but most important goal of the all was not to drink alcohol and didn’t. Still haven’t! Never want to again.

Hope everyone’s ok. <:)>

Hi everyone
I just wanted to nip on and wish you all a happy Christmas to wish you a merry one would be inappropriate!

I will make a effort to post more and drink less in the new year. Drinks has been staying around the same all year really. About 3 times a week and about 20-25 units a week. Still a little high so work to be done there. I’d like to be 1-2 times 7-14 units for next year.

I’ve been up all night. As a rule my sleeping has got a lot better but the excitement of Christmas and thinking of thing I still need to do has kept me awake. So I will get moving and go get my birds pork pie because it’s not Christmas without one.

Then we are off ice skating.
Also going to ask the hubby if it’s feasible to nip to curry’s and buy and him install a dishwasher. Think I might be pushy it adding this to his todo list though.

Anyway Christmas! Let’s make 2022 the year we achiour goals xx

Happy Christmas everyone. I m fit to burst this morning. I ate so much that the alcohol which I still drank couldn't affect me. Hoping for new goals to be achieved in the New Year such as less than 20 units a week. Still socialising this week but also taking some lateral flow tests.

Happy New Year!

True to form I’m seeing it in with a stinking hangover. Dry January seems very appealing!

Sf I’ve done nothing but stuff my face all Christmas! I’m feeling very fat right now. Went out yesterday and bought lots of veg to make some healthy soup.

Ajh any goal for you? Seems you only need to do more or the same as you’ve already achieved sobriety.

Seismic what’s your goal for January? Got any sporting events coming up?

Happy New Year everyone.
Challenging myself to Dry January. Better to try and fail than not try at all.
AJH you are an inspiration.
Kath are you going to try?
We have been looking after our daughter s Westie the last 2 weeks while she is on holiday. Love her but if she had a middle finger it would be used a lot.
Seismic , did you complete your rowing Challenge?
Leesa do you have any goals for this week?
Let this year be a good one

Happy new year everyone.

My personal goals for 2022 are to have a fully AF year (which would be my first since I was about 14 some 24 years ago) and to work on self improvement. Exercising more, being more mindful and trying to be less stressed and irritable at the world.

I have nearly completed 28 full AF days and I feel I am making steady progress, even though I still feel very empty and lonely inside.
Not given up on giving up.

Evening All.

Ahh, thank you SF, that’s really complimentary. Yes, hopefully Kath, more of the same but get back on top of some of the things sliding because I’ve begun prioritising work again too much which puts me at risk.

So, my goals are:

- be and stay abstinent…same as Londoner (brilliant by the way Londoner), I want this year to be a full sober and abstinent year. I’m 8 months abstinent. I want this to be permanent…I cannot ever drink again…too awful. So it’ll be wonderful to be able to say the whole of 2022 was abstinent/alcohol free.

- ensure I attend a set number of mtgs a week. I was doing minimum of 5 but most of the time 6 or 7. Last 2 months have been minimal. So I’m going to do at least 2 per week for the next 3 months.

- Start and maintain meditation and or mindfulness (minimum of twice per week) for January then see what’s what in February

- Start and maintain yoga (minimum of twice per week) in January then see what’s what in February.

- Continue sea dips (dipped today…New Years day dip…lovely)

- Exercise at least 3 times per week.

And I want to go to the pyramids in Egypt!

Happy new year everyone.

Afternoon all.

Londoner well done on your 28 days and good luck with your goal!

Ajh sounds like you’ve got lots of good goals there. Well done!

I too have some exercise goals. I want to run ten miles without stopping hopefully by the end of the month.I’m still very sluggish atm so today I got on the treadmill and did 5k then straight back in my pjs haha!

Sf I’m sure we can do it! Let’s have faith!

Booked a little break at Center parc’s so motivated to be swim suit ready for them, mid March.

Did another run today 6k although atm I’m just concentrating on running every day around 5k and then I will think about improving the distance in about 2weeks.
