Re: So what'ya drink instead?
I struggled for years trying to find something I liked to drink when I was out and about in pubs and restaurants. I got absolutely fed up to the back teeth of drinking sweet tasting drinks containing sugar or high fructose corn syrup or some other stuff which isn't really sugar or artificial sweeteners. I also got fed up of fizzy stuff too, with the exception of sparkling water.
So, in the end I decided to give up on the sweet fizzy stuff and drink something I actually liked - nowadays, if it's available, I order tea. It gets me some startled looks, I will admit, but I'm not bothered what people think of my drinking choices any more. If I can't have tea I usually drink sparkling water.

Hi Shadowlad, long time no see. Hope you are well and happy. I like your doggy avatar. It always used to be horses, if I remember correctly.

Hi Sheila. Yes, I'm fairly well thank you. Still got major issues with my memory, and its getting worse with age. I also used to be a logical creature (in the dim and distant past I was a computer programmer), but now I'm as thick as a plank.

Hope you are keeping well too.

I bought a nice bottle of sugar free/low carb elderflower presse today from M&S. It's very refreshing and sparkly
I noticed they also have an AF gin and tonic, but I'm already fond of the Tesco version.

Could do with liquid morphine again.
Left leg very painful twisting.
Maybe I should have not run through the twinge.
Hopefully I can drive her home & then rest.

Coffee is my most important refreshment and I'm very passionate about it. A rich flavoursome cappuccino is my delight and I look forward to it every day.

They were doing a 2 for 1 at Morrisons today so, I'm all stocked up. I'm quite partial to a nice coffee too John especially the iced frappes, not so good on the waistline.

My niece introduced me to iced frappucinos today. Delicious but definitely not diet-friendly

Hiya Besties
Yes I'm saying again that I'm passionate about my cappuccinos but I was horrified to discover a few days ago when we visited a Costa Coffee store and because of this discovery I no longer want chocolate dusting on my cappuccinos.
What happened was that the Barista asked me if I wanted Chocolate dusting on my cappuccino and I said yes, so I sat down and saw that the chocolate had thickly gone over the handle of the Coffee cup so I blew the Chocolate dusting off the handle to reveal sugar crystals and loads of them where the chocolate was.
There was I thinking that they dusted the Cappuccinos with pure chocolate powder only to be mistaken, half of it is sugar crystals and I hate sugar in my hot beverages.
Be warned Folks.

The last big Costa coffee I had was with my mother and her then partner, in 2019 . Always liked the big decent cup of coffee they do in uk .
I only saw this , I wonder eventually as a treat and refreshment on a warm summer’s evening......

Re: So what'ya drink instead?
Yes I’ve seen this along with so many other new AF or low alcohol drinks. I tried some in my early days of trying to give up alcohol but decided that I really didn’t like them. So now I stick to flavoured water, tea, coffee and those specialty teas. Need to avoid the word alcohol
