Thanks Pickles, TS.

Pork I burst into tears when I saw your video. I have 2 cats a tabby and a ginger, but the oldest (a much chubbier version of the cat lying down on the floor) does not like the younger one. They are both strays I took in.

Wish I could beat this but can't. Drinking 40% vodka and will not stop until it's gone.
Marie <:)>

Sorry today's been like this. Maybe don't think of the big picture of "beating it" but just looking after yourself for day, whatever that takes. And tomorrow see it as not drinking just for that one day? Sometimes the big picture can be too overwhelming.

It's good you posted. Let us know how you are when you can <:)>

Love your pic, Marie! Remember Dorothy on the yellow-brick road looking for something amazing .... and all at the end of the day she had the power within herself 8-)

So, today is a new day Mariet <:)> and I hope you aren’t feeling too dreadful. Take it very easy on yourself today and please don’t believe that part of yourself that is telling you that it’s hopeless so you might as well drink. It’s not true. It feels hopeless perhaps, but feelings are not facts. The fact is that we can change. We have to want to, and we have to be willing to do whatever it takes, but it can be done. Don’t lose sight of that. <:)>

Well this wasn't exactly planned! (w) Bought a bottle of wine on my way home (w) I guess I'm still within my allowed limits but tonight it's my AV talking, not the moderating voice.

I've decided to drink when I'm on holiday (it's back on!) and that's when the permission thoughts get the better of me, it's not even sociable, Jim said I should go home if I want to drink and that's what I've done. Honestly, I prefer drinking alone, listening to music and talking to folks on the phone. Hoping to do the 100 days when I came back from holiday.

Don't know what the point of this rambling is, just wanted to get it off my chest.

This is probably a good place for me to stay in touch with the group albeit not under ideal circumstances. All of my BE friends are pm'ing me to tell me to stay in touch with BE. No matter what stay in touch. I'm not feeling really great about myself at the moment and I really don't want to bring down all of the positiveness I am reading on my regular thread. So here I am drinking - now. Not heavily. Not out of control. That comes weeks later - unless I stop. No sympathy here folks. I am ultimately in charge of my own destiny and take full responsibility for my action. Just staying in touch because I think it's best.

I do really feel for you CB. It seems so hard to get your mojo back once you're drinking again. It's an excellent idea to stay in touch on the forum though. It's likely to help with damage limitation and combat that (false) sense of hopelessness and isolation that sometimes comes with drinking.

Good on you Pork. Here's to a sober November!

Yes indeed it all starts with a sober day Cowboy. Don’t lose heart mate, yes it’s difficult but even so it’s doable ... and so worth it.

We live and learn eh? I always found it hard to look beyond how bad I was feeling to work out what went wrong and thus what I might try to get around whatever obstacle was keeping me from staying sober. I had to stop focusing on how awful I was feeling because it wasn’t at all constructive. Plenty of hydration today SP, treat yourself gently and don’t give up. It takes a fair bit of practise to get the hang of this staying sober malarkey <:)>

Yes.
I want to stop though.
Going to try real hard tomorrow.
I do appreciate the support here.
Just seem stuck back drinking.
Hate myself thoughts starting to embed in my head again.
Lush mentioned AA. But I’m not sure on the whole share circle idea.

Many many people swear by AA, I didn't think it was for me but I met many kind caring people that understand what you're going through.

Keep posting here anyway, what would we do without your jokes. :lol2:

Pork, I think it's worth trying anything - quitting's tough. I've known people whose lives have been turned around by AA.

Why don't you ditch the Special Brew? If tomoorow's going to be your first day sober, you want to minimise the suffering of withdrawal. If you must drink, have something weaker, space it out, make sure you eat and get some water in too.

You're at the stage where alcohol is going to send you into a horrible depressive spiral. I'm really glad you want to get sober again <:)>
