Seems something going around with cats Took Blackie to vets today for claws to be clipped. Had been bathing cut below his ear. Nurse said it had become a hole. Vet gave him antibiotic injection, thought an abscess had burst, plus collar to go on to stop him from scratching. He was so good. Back home he just slept and was very patient when I put the collar on him tonight. If it had been my other cat I’d have lost an arm

Hope everyone’s cats are doing ok
Aww bless Blackie. He sounds very placid, hope he is soon much better. Smudge was fairly patient when the vet was squeezing her puss out (it smelled vile i had to leave the room was retching (w) ). When the vet cleaned the small wound she turned round and bit her finger. So by now the vet had a wound too  She hardly noticed her bleeding finger though, they must be used to getting scratched and bitten.

Yeah, I think so, my sister's a vet I will give her a call tomorrow, if the diahorrhea had continued I'd of taken her to the vet but I'm sure she's fine.
;)? That's good. Its definitely the season for cat fights, i spoke to another friend today who has also been to the vets with her injured moggie. They all need to chill out a bit, lol ! Its not mating season is it ? xx

Hope everyone elses pets are ok. <:)>

Had an outbreak of fleas on my Rabbit and in one of my Guinea pig hutches, so I've liberally dusted with diatomaceous earth and I can't see any sign of them today.
In my pet room/Mancave I've got an electric bug/fly zapper but the flies have to be big enough to touch the 2 electrodes that are 3/16 inch apart, I've also got some yellow sticky fly papers and they trap 10's and hundreds of teeny weeny little midges, if you've got pets you've just got to buy some yellow sticky papers, they really work.

Take Care pet lovers.

Hi John, those pesky fleas and flies hey. Ive never heard of that dusting powder can you use it in the home for cats and dogs ? I recently got their 3 monthly treatments though have one cat left to treat after his vet check up on Saturday. I want to treat the house again just to be sure that nothing is breeding. I'm itching at the thought. I usually use a spray i get from the vets but maybe the dusting powder is more effective ?

Hiya Shadowlad

Sorry I haven't thought to pop onto this thread for a while and I've missed your enquiry, regarding the diatomaceous earth for your dog and cat, I'm not sure on that point, I would suggest that you Google it and take it from there.

Good luck
JC

I have eight dogs, they seem to be as addictive as booze!

But I have two favourites - pictured above - who can do absolutely NO WRONG...

Dilly (Posh name Delilah) who inspired my user name here, is a two year old Black and Tan Mini-Dachshund who lost a kidney during a routine spay when she was 6 months old due to an incompetent vet "accidentally" tying off her Ureta instead of her fallopian tube  . She spent a week in Bristol Animal Hospital dicing with death before the insanely excellent Vets there saved her life. Never been so scared, or so exhausted making the journey daily from here in Cornwall to Bristol to sit with her. The drinking REALLY took off during that time.

The sleepy boy behind her is Elmo, my very bouncy Boston Terrier. He's only ever quiet when Dilly agrees to cuddle with him - he's obsessed :D
