Day 2, been getting quite strong cravings, using the stronger lozenges to beat them. How's it going Spats. ;)?

Don’t beat yourself up Ruby, it happens, and you’re straight back on it ;)? I’m on day six SA and AF. I’m getting great support from quit smoking group and weekends away with friends/family who don’t smoke or drink :D

Well done spats, enjoy your weekends away. ;)?

I'll pass on the vape newtie, they're not without risk and you can't smoke them inside.

That's fine Ruby ;)? Just out of curiosity what under and including the sun is without risk?

Unfortunately the risks won't really be known for many years if not decades, I'm sure they're a lot safer than fags but lozenges are my chosen drug. Each to their own.

The TPD (tobacco product directive EU) stipulates that its rules do not apply to a medically licensed product, therefor its use indoors will not be banned because it's past the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), so the use of Voke will have the same restrictions and potential risk as any other licensed NRT (not including Champix of course), except with twice the quit rate of patches, gum, lozenges or sprays.

I'm so sorry spats, but at least you're AF, I'm the opposite, I resisted the Rollie's tonight but bought a bottle of wine on my way home, saw it coming, nobody to blame but me. Hum ho, will regroup tomorrow.

I heard that someone in the UK died of pneumonia reportedly from vaping, just wondered what you think about that.

Terry Miller, a factory worker tragically died of lipid pneumonia in 2010, although the inquest decided an open verdict and I quote "there was no specific evidence to confirm that the device had caused Mr Miller’s death" his widow suspected e-cigarettes, I have a news article from 2011 here. This resurfaced in the media after the deaths in the US from lipid pneumonia which finally, after 18 deaths and 1000 reported illnesses the FDA has decided to admit it was tainted, illegal black market cannabis e-joints and not regular e-cigarettes, urging those who vape regular e-cigarettes to keep off smoking NOT to return to smoking.

Lipoid pneumonia is a rare condition that occurs when fat particles enter the lungs, there are no fats/oils in eliquid, every part has to be water soluble and this has been regulated now in the EU for many years, the only way that oils (oil based flavourings, THC oil) can be present in eliquid is if somebody adds it to the liquid, an uneducated DIY'er throwing some cake flavouring into the liquid to spice it up that they found in the wife's kitchen cupboard or cannabis oil for example.

So, the case in 2010 was an open verdict, since then the number of vapers in the UK has grown to 3.6 million, 41 million world wide and except for a black market crisis in the unregulated US that started two months ago vaping has carried on without issue, well, except record lowering in smoking rates leading to the UK having the second lowest in Europe. Several years ago Public Health England and the Royal Collage of Physicians deemed vaping to be a minimum of 95% less damaging than smoking and re-affirmed this after the US deaths.

Oh my thoughts haven't changed Ruby, the tabloids love a good "maybe but not proven" story to scare the shit out of the populace, fuelled by the ever lobbying big tobacco/pharma/government who hadn't planned for, nor can afford such a speedy loss in customer base and revenue, If Wells Fargo's prediction on the drop in tobacco sales and rise of vaping are correct then this could put such a spanner in the global finance works that the financial crisis of 2008 would feel like dropping 10p while running for the bus!

Time for the catchy catch phrase \:)/

Don't be a twat, don't vape fat! ;)?
