Hi guys, just felt the need to post on here. For the last 4 years I thought our problems was my husbands drinking, but now I can see that drink just drops the mask he has been wearing :(. I can finally see that I have become a victim to a sociopath, and that is hurting me 100 times more, as actually this man I fell in love with, was never truly able to genuinely love me back 💔. The cruelty I have endured from this relationship as finally taken its toll, and I'm having to now seek professional help for my own broken mind and heart.

soempty, I'm so sorry. These are really hard times. I don't know about your man, but having been down the addiction route myself and seen many others affected also, I think it's very hard to distinguish between the "real person" and the addicted self. Alcohol brings out our nasty side, and we can sometimes behave very out of our natural chararcter, but equally alcohol can expose problems.

It sounds to me as if you need space and self-care. Regardless of what happens to him, you've got some serious healing to do. Whether he tackles his drink problem, and what sort of person emerges at the end of the process, is really down to him. I can't help feeling somewhat concerned for you safety, just from the tone of your posts. Can you get yourelf away somewhere safe, and start rebuilding your life, your self esteem, and your sense of who you are?

Bit hit by low mood today.
Trying to work out a cheer up plan.
Have a few things on it so far just don’t know how to keep reminded of them.
Maybe calendar reminder three times a day.
I’m pretty good at sticking to things when I get in rhythm.
Going to write a reminder now & schedule for morning, noon & night. Add things as I go.
Hopefully with the right ingredients I can be appy 😊

Peace and love to all suffering mental health problems.
Keep on keeping on people 👍😎

Doing stuff helps me, but it is just a distraction, really, I fear. An analgesic at best. I am feeling full of anxiety today and it may be because I have done bu**er all - not been well, and ended up effectively fasting for 36 hours, so still feeling a bit weak (although I have eaten well today.)

I have lots I need to do (physical stuff in the garden, housework and indeed other things), but no motivation.

I think I can still make myself though...

I am an idiot for not making the most of the sunshine today with my camera... (photography seems to help.)

It comes in waves. It will go but it's awful whilst it's here. Knowing it will pass can help. Try and listen to some music or sleep if you can. I hope you feel better.
