Have some more hugs Ruby <:)> <:)> :)

Its not too long till the 18th and if you get on quetiapine it usually helps a lot with sleep. I used to be on that a few years ago but on a different one now. A friend of mine is on a low dose of quetiapine after a breakdown this year and she is doing well on it, sleeping for the first time in years x

I am ok thanks, its just a bumpy road isn't it, trying to get enough sleep and looking after ourselves. Generally ok though and i am grateful for that :) xx

Glad you're not on your own Moira. Sorry about Tillie though. She needs all her fur in this weather, brrr!

I’m having telephone consultation with my docs today.
I worry a lot & this in turn makes me anxious.
Would like to go back on medication.
Keep on.

Glad you're talking to the medics porkball. Ask for something with an anxiolytic effect. SSRI antidepressants (Prozac and similar drugs) can make anxiety worse, at least in the short term.

Hi Moira I’m sorry to hear you’re in such a bad place and hope that staying with Jim will help you. Are you able to pop in to see Tilly to reassure her? Just another week till you see your gp, let them know how you really feel about the whole situation and that you are working with your psychiatrist to get through this. <:)> <:)> <:)>

She prescribed something not quite sure what as she said a few different meds.

Will see when I go collect & review after a month.

Thanks.

Thanks for the support Maureen, Jim's been a wee gem. I'm going to see Tilly tomorrow, if she's still pulling her fur out I'm going to get some felliway. Really pleased you're back AF and SF, I need a kick up the bum to get back on the straight and narrow.

Wilson, hope the antidepressant works. ;)?

Hi Moira, I’m the opposite of you in that I can socialise quite happily without a drink. But on my own the bottle is always open (w) and the second also. The third one - that’s when the top goes back on, half way down. I’ve drunk a bottle of spirits in two days in the past and know that there’s no way I can ever touch the stuff ever again. Over the years, since Michael died I’ve realised that drinking has worsened my depression. I’m still trying to get to the other side. Volunteering has helped to an extent but only in that it has got me out of the house. Caring for others means a lot but it often means I’m not always caring for me. Having someone who loves/cares for me is a great thing and helps me to pull through ..... sometimes. Rarely though I do feel despondent even with that support. It’s for all this that I know that I cannot have any more to drink .... EVER. It took me a long time to come to this realisation (it was pointed out to me some time ago on this forum - and thank you to that person <:)> ). I still have a long way to go but I will get there now that I’ve accepted I can never drink again. I’m comfortable with it now. I wish you every success in your journey and hope you’ll reach your comfortable place wherever that may be <:)> <:)> <:)>

My moods picked up a bit, staying with Jim helped and Tilly seems to have stopped pulling her fur out. Just wish I could get a decent sleep. Hope you're doing well yourself. ;)?

Been reading my psychiatric notes, feeling quite depressed. The private psychiatrist has asked for consent to access them but I have just emailed back refusing and asking for a report from the information supplied and the discussion we had. She may not now give me a diagnosis but my thinking is that I can always change my mind on consent but once she sees the records there's no going back. It might cost me more but I'm prepared to make another appointment to see her if I need to.

Good thinking Jake. Often we put up with things when drunk, or seek people out who drink too. All this gets re-evaluated in sobriety.

Hi Jake, well done on almost 5 years AF, that's amazing and I'm glad to hear that your depression is getting better. I suffer from bipolar myself and have just come through a really bad episode. I know what you mean about distancing yourself from old friends, I sometimes wonder what I saw in some of them and the other ones would just lead me astray, given half the chance. I rarely go out with them at the witching hour now.

Sorry to hear about your PTSD but glad to hear you're working through it, I'm waiting to get counseling, it's been over a year, hope it comes up soon.
