Blackie was supposed to have worm and flea treatment today but they delayed it until they have blood results. They suspect he has kidney problems. We’re taking it one step at a time. Didn’t want to cause him too much anxiety at once. Poor soul screeched so much and he’s such a placid sweetheart <:)> <:)> <:)>

Hope Basil will be ok too <:)>

Hope everyone's cats/dogs are ok. <:)>

Looks like everyone's pet's are poorly just now. Tilly's pulling her fur out again, will need to take her to the vets if she doesn't stop. I've recently changed her flea collar and the batteries in the cat flap, I think it's just stress, might try some felliway to calm her down.

I don't know if it's just because I know he's ill that Basil seems more ill now. It just took some coaxing to get him to eat a treat. Unheard of. He seems sad. Can't start the meds until Tuesday. I do so hope he doesn't have kidney disease too. My previous cat had that and it was awful watching her deteriorate.

We are seriously considering the operation, if he is suitable for it after his thyroid has calmed down.

Got Blackie black this week, going to repot a rather large plant and put him in there in the conservatory - he often used to sit in there where it’s lovely and warm and watch the animals and birds or play with his toys  <:)>

Found my new furbie to adopt. Met her on Sunday, she's beautiful, very timid, could see that she wanted to interact with me though but too unsure. All black just like Blackie but with white whiskers, and a golden oldie. Hope she might be with me a little longer than Blackie was but as long as she's happy and comfortable that's what matters most.

Aw Spats, I think your fur baby is one lucky lady to have found you. Bless you for taking an oldie on. <:)> I help a little bit in two local rescues and the oldies often get overlooked. <:)>

Congratulations, Spats!

I got Basil's blood test rsults back yesterday. He has made some progress, but still not stablized, so he's now on the same amount of medication twice a day :o Another blood test in a month. No point in testing his kidneys until the thryoid levels are normal. Meanwhile we are scoping out catteries for holidays :( Will probably keep Lily at home with a cat feeder. Twice the price but no sense in distressing her too. I wonder if she will miss him.

On balance I think we will go for the operation for Basil if possible. For me reason I thought the thyroid gland was near the brain! The fact that it's not is of some comfort if we do go for surgery.

Hope Basil makes a good recovery Rachel. It is worrying when our pets are so poorly. <:)>

How will she climb a fence?

They can still climb up fences when they've had their claws trimmed a bit Piggy. If their claws get too long, they can be a hazard.

Oh okay, never had my cats done but only had them a few years.
The old cat before that would foam at the mouth me just putting flea treatment on neck.
Had to use thick gardening gloves but she still got me.
