Caroline! That is bonkers. I'd take the the tat off, thanks her sweetly and say you prefer the minimalist look - return the tat with card and a little present. Otherwise you'll be pissed off, and why should you be? Plus she'll do the same thing next year.

I know you're both right in theory - thanks for understanding my pain.If she'd said she'd go and get the decs from home I'd have definitely said no.I was blindsided by her producing them from her bag right there on the spot.Plus she's elderly, lost her husband a couple of years ago and it would feel like kicking a puppy if I took them down now :?

I know it will give her pleasure to see my tree from her window and it's only a week after all.But next year I'm getting one of those spiral metal things with lights, no branches to hang anything on :twisted:

Sorry you're suffering Seismic.Ah Xmas, it's the gift that just keeps on giving :roll:

I'm truly sorry Caroline but I have read back and am afraid that I find this situation quite comical. It just seems so absurd that someone would do that ! Especially someone that you hardly know. And she comes with the decorations ready to throw on the tree - wow. It;s nice that you are so tolerant. Merry Christmas.

Puts a bit of a different slant on it now Caroline. You are being very kind by keeping the tree <:)>

Hiya Folks

I'm not a misery but, what was all the fuss about;

Wife & Me we haven't been out anywhere and we like to go out, I haven't got stuck into any chores cus it doesn't seem appropriate and I like to keep busy, we watched 'Paddington Bear' movie and it was only just 'watchable', we watched a repeat of Doc Martin that we haven't seen and the story line was ridiculous, Wife watched Michael McIntyre and I'm not keen, Bah! Humbug.

This day is pretty much the same as the last Xmas day, that was also a drag.

The good news is though, we're going out for breakfast tomorrow morning to the pub, yahoo!
The further away from the last drink we travel the easier it becomes

Well, if it's just the two of you then it's just another day isn't it?

MIL threatened a cottage on the Scilly isles for Xmas, just the two of them. I'd be more than happy. Unfortunately the kids have come to associate Xmas as being at inlaws. They'll be 13 and 15 next year, the shine is wearing off.

:D :lol: :lol2: TC and pork. Five weeks of effing Christmas songs on the radio, might have to be bored rigid on radio 4.

Thinking of not buying anybody anything not even cards. Scrooge ain't got a look in.

Merry Christmas. (w)
