Hello, Amarok has directed me to this thread to re-post an inspirational quotation I came across recently, in answer to the question 'What really matters to you?':

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a little better; whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is the meaning of success." Ralph Waldo Emerson

Nice, eh?

Absolutely a great quote. Apply it to what you see in the mirror too? :)

Take the stairs the elevator is broken.

Were not gonna get better right away. One step at a time.

Hi, I enjoy working with images and inserting inspirational/encouraging quotes on them.
The quotes themselves have been a source of much encouragement for me and me better half.

I've quite a few of them, I've redone these two so they're bang up to date in that sense; the others go back to 2013.
I'll have to redo the majority of the earlier ones as the sizes are way to big for the Forum, many of them 650x800.

Nevertheless, if they're worth viewing I'd be delighted to continue posting.

Best wishes,
weewillie.

So pleased to read the first a-n-d positive reply Topcat, I wasn't sure how they would be received.
Thank you.

Excellent quote Gerard, and it's one I haven't read before.
Even if I had read it before, it's well worth reading again.

Regards to you both. <:)>

Remember those tacky brass plates with all sorts of designs on that used to hang on the walls of virtually every home back in the day? I came across one in a second hand shop a while back for a few shilling, it's got pride of place on my mantle piece, it has the words NEVER KEEP YOUR WISHBONE WHERE YOUR BACKBONE OUGHT TO BE hammered into it.

It's my house!!!
Where there's soap, there's hope.

Great, Gerard, I'm enjoying reading them.

Naughty Little Newt, I well remember those brass plates, some of them were good to read, like the one you're proud to own and have on display.
Others!! well, were Naff, to be perfectly honest, weren't they. Probably won at the visiting circus side shows.
Oh well, we were all tickled pink in going home afterwards to proudly show all the family what we won at the fare.....
(that cost more to win than buying it at the local £1 shop, or whatever we called them back then. lol

Both good to read, from you two good folks.

Best wishes.
