I threaded my sewing machine! You have no idea how frustrating it is when I can't, and I spend hours, HOURS trying to thread that needle.
I do Danny, many moon's ago (aged 16)
I was a "flat machinist" making clothes for Marks & Spencers no less !
This was of course one of the first things we had to learn , also you weren't considered a machinist until you had reached the heady heights of run a sewing machine needle straight through your nail !!!
Suffice to say I achieved that with the first week 😎😎😎
Sorry about the ramble;
Your post sparked a long forgotten memory.
Glad you're sorted now 🙂

Ouch. My nails are not long enough! But what a training to use machines. Mine lives on the table. It used to collect dust. Now it's collecting stashes

Have you tried a needle threader Danny?

You can get them in most craft shops. You push the wire through the eye of the needle and then push the thread through the wire. Pull the threader and it goes back through the eye of the needle complete with the thread. Job done ;)?

My sister has come up with a suggestion. Hold something light coloured behind the needle. Trying that later

And that was a top tip for threading a machine needle. Worked a treat. Small piece of white paper, which also reflected the light back on to the needle. Much easier.

In the meantime, someone asked for a tea cosy. I knitted 2 X 8 inch squares, sowed them up the sides, did a running stitch about an inch down from the top, pulled it all tight. Job' done. Not the best tea cosy ever, but certainly one of the quickest to make. It would have been quicker still if i'd crocheted it.

And the V neck sleeveless jersey is finally coming together. I'm not sure the V is right, so I shall nip down to the wool shop for advice, before I cast everything off.

Light at the end of the tunnel. My house might be falling down (builder says it's subsidence, insurance company says it isn't), but I'm getting some craft projects wound up.

That awkward first date 😎
My third go at making eyes , I find getting this right bit of a trial ATM.
But i prefer the look to safety eyes and these are of course 100% safe 🙂

Sewing class yesterday, and I finished a little reversible pinafore dress for my grand daughter. Now it's finished I'm beginning to doubt my choice of fabric of course. Last lesson next week. I could nip down to my local shop, get more material and make another little dress. Hmmm. Thinks.

Hi Crafty Cats! :\:

I love to craft (am terrible but enjoy it!) but don't when I'm drinking. Hoping to join you here soon. Anyone got a book recommendation for total beginner wanting to learn to crochet?

Morning I never used any books to learn, found lots of YouTube tutorials the easiest way, I have several books now but yeah it's how I learnt initially.
Crochet for me, has been a great relaxing, productive distraction, something I could never have done while still drinking.
Lots of books on eBay, new and second hand, best wishes 🙂

I've been knitting a little sleeveless stripy V neck jumper for the grandchildren. I weighed some stash - sufficient weight, however, not sufficient length. I'm panicking now, about running out. Eeeeek.
