Hi everyone, day 4.
Feeling mainly ok apart from the usual first week withdrawal cracking headache. Also feel mildly panicked if I think about the entire evening ahead without any wine, but have distracted myself and I'm ok now. I'm bracing myself for the dreaded day 5 which is a Friday - joy! I hope I can do it this time.
Hope all you 7 dayers are ok xxx

Hey gonegirl, the only one you can let down is yourself. Don't beat yourself up over it. Get up dust yourself off and keep trying. We're all here to support and encourage. So hang in there, tomorrow's a new day. Take care and stay strong.

Hi everyone, day 4 for me.
Won't roll call, my head's in a mess and 6 hours to sort it.
Interview at 3pm and my anxiety is sky high.
I didn't have much sleep and had to have painkillers at 4am for a pounding headache.
I nearly drank last night to calm me down but glad I didn't now as at least I'm not hungover.
I've come into work and everyone is off so I'm on my own fretting.
Out for a meal with my partner tonight, he wants to celebrate me nailing my interview, I wish I had his confidence...
Depending on how I feel I can't say if I will drink or not. I just need to get through today somehow. I'm so nervous.

Hi All

Here goes my hundredth day one and last hope it will be the last but one day at a time. Got through on very little alcohol yesterday so today should be easier. Going to an AA meeting at lunchtime and have started working the steps and lots of reading , videos and speakers on alcoholism. managed to get some sleep last night so apart from the headaches and nausea feeling a little better.

Thanks for all your support I know I can't to this alone as I have tried too many times.

Good morning everyone, day 3 and managed a decent sleep last night.

Well done on your 5 days Rose, it's no miracle it's all down to you, but sometimes it can be surprising how quickly it goes too can't it?

Best of luck for today gonegirl, do whatever you can to get through today, plenty of liquids, carbs, sleep as much as possible. Big <:)> to you.

ED best of luck for today ;)?

Jonny, TJ, Siam, Olive, FR and any other 7 dayers I've missed, we can do this!

Thank you Grace 77 will do my nest and keep occupied taking protein supplements at the moment to give me some energy as I have hardly eaten for a week. Trying to remain positive as I know I can do this the consequences of not doing it are too scary to think of.

Day 2 and had a good nights sleep on night 1, this tells me if I have a slip, get back on track immediately. I was 19 days dry then had drinks on Wednesday, a lot! Hangover Thursday morning, ( and I never get hangovers! ) ate well and got out for spin on bike later, no withdrawal symptoms experienced so guessing the damage was very limited. Never give up on giving up! :D <:)>

Failed again.

Should have been day 7 today.

I've tried pretty much every drug going except heroin and crack and never got addicted to any of them. Not even remotely interested in any of them these days. Only booze and fags I can't give up and even fags I've managed to give up for much longer than the drink in the past. I suspect that's mostly because they are legal and easily obtainable and socially acceptable ... well booze is, not smoking so much these days.

I think the attitude to booze is changing though. In the same way smoking is becoming less socially acceptable, I think drinking is going the same way. I'm certainly ashamed to smoke in public these days. Hopefully it will become the same way with booze soon.

Will try for day 1 again tomorrow

Welcome back Cheddar, Hedge and Johnny.

I agree Cheddar, I think it was a lot easier to quit smoking after the ban came in, although it s hard to see that happening for alcohol. Maybe being teetotal will become less controversial though. I read somewhere that higher numbers of young people now are choosing to be completely teetotal so things could change still.

Best of luck tonight everyone, no cravings for me. Bathnight for the kids, tackle massive pile of ironing and then early night with my book and a nice cup of tea x

ED, hope the interview went well!
