Re: The First 7 Days
Well done on the cycle JohnnyB that’s great!
Good morning everyone
Day 3 today.
Yesterday was haard. I was craving badly. I almost went and bought vodka but i’m still here.
I feel even better today. Now i can’t let any complacency kick in.
How is everyone else today? X

Re: The First 7 Days
Well done for your strength and determination yesterday Jake
You sound in good form Johnny!
And well done to all Seveners
I’m still on a sober path. I did get a few thoughts/ memories yesterday, it’s almost like a muscle memory. The annoying thing is I got it as a result of attending peer support group
They are a lovely bunch but I’m not sure if it’s the right fit for me. However it’s inevitable I will get these feelings at some point, perhaps it’s just me, not the group

Re: The First 7 Days
Hi all. Back again at another Day 1. Had a 3 day stretch a few weeks back.. but I have been talking myself into thinking it's ok if I don't drink so much. Have cut back and stopping after having a few. But not always.
So... I dumped it out, and going to try again. I have the book Quitting Drinking Now, I think it's t is called. Now if I can only find it. It's good to some of you who are keeping on going at this stopping thing. It is hard, I think and know, but not impossible.
Gonna keep on trying.

Re: The First 7 Days
I had lunch around 12 then went to bed at 2. Not long woken up and i feel refreshed and more energetic.
I am taking another 2 meds for mood and sleep. I’m taking Amitriptyline as it makes me drowsy and quetiapine for my mood. I figure i’m still sober, even if having a bit of help from the meds.
I hope you all had a lovely day.

Re: The First 7 Days
Morning martha! Lovely to see you x
I had really vivid dreams last night. I dreamnt i was a TV presenter then that I was back in my Uni house lol.
I slept well. A bit too well. I took 75mg quetiapine and didn’t get to sleep until late so i woke up at 11am! That’s late for me.
How is everyone else? Are there any other 7 dayers here?
Jake x

Re: The First 7 Days
Thanks Vic! I’ll see you soon on the next thread
Day 4 here.
I’m a bit fed up tbh. I am sleeping 11/12 the last few days. I am having very vivid dreams, involving drinking, and i wake up thinking it’s real.
I am still sober so am grateful for that, i’m just not seeing as immediate benefits of sobriety as i’d like. I am having drinking thoughts but i shall resist.
I have my meeting tomorrow with my alcohol key worker. I want to engage with the service nice and sober. There is a breakfast club 10-11 before my meeting but i’m too nervous atm to contemplate going.
I’ll sort myself out, i just need to vent
Have a great day all x

Re: The First 7 Days
Vent away Jake, I certainly did when I was at my very lowest point when I found Bright Eye a few years back.
The vivid dreams didn't last for longer than a few days for me so perhaps they will drop off for you soon as well.
It's probably really helpful to get that support from your key worker
Hang in there
