Re: The First 7 Days
Good morning Swordie,
Well so far they’ve said to keep drinking and have an alcohol assessment with the nurse. They said they do offer a detox if you need it.
Yes i’ve told my parents and my partner also knows. It’s just a shit position for him to be in living with me.
I’ve had my morning eye opener. Tomorrow will be the day. I keep saying that. I need to mean it.

Heyyyyy, it's lonely on the next thread, come and visit soon
Jake, I hope you feel better soon. I had a pretty rough time when I gave up initially when I first started with Bright Eye as my drinking was out of control. Two, sometimes three bottles of wine a night, every night. Used to wake up and find the empties all over my bed. Look after yourself and be kind, stay close to the threads and we'll be here too X

Re: The First 7 Days
I am also drinking again, a couple of glasses of weak wine a night so it’s not too bad I guess, I’ve never drank enough to become physically dependent on alcohol but I’m deeply psychologically dependent on it, I’m focusing on getting my mental health sorted, I’m off my diazepam, my suicidal thoughts are not here at the moment so hopefully I’m finally on some medication that will keep me stable
after I’ve been stable for longer, I’ll focus on my sobriety again x

Re: The First 7 Days
Day 7 done.
Work: stressy
Home: stressy
Relationship: stressy
Just one of those bloody days!
Very tempted, but the only alcohol in is my wife’s and I was not going out to buy any!
Best wishes to all and at least we know we understand each other’s battles.

Re: The First 7 Days
Day 2 sorted, im getting it quite easy at present. I used to take Chlordiazepoxide, a 5 day reducing course, it certainly makes the firsf 5 days easy. Highly recommended rather than pulling your hair out and not sleeping.

Re: The First 7 Days
Day 1 for me.
I had a very sweaty nights sleep. Wet sheets, lovely. So far i’ve been ok. I had 2 bottles of cider yesterday so considerably less. Onwards and upwards. I’m gonna spend today in bed if i want to. I still feel really sick from wretching and vomiting so much. Diarrhoea has stopped now so that’s something
Have a lovely day all x

Re: The First 7 Days
Thank you both x
I’m gingerly sipping some tea. I’ve put some jacket potatoes in and i have ice cream
The main thing that’s getting me is panic and anxiety. I hope it’s gone by tomorrow
Hope you’re all having a good day x

Re: The First 7 Days
Jake, if you are shaking, sweating and very stressed you should carry on drinking until you get withdrawal meds. How is your blood pressure? Stroke and heart attack is the second biggest killer of the alcoholic after accident. Cirrhosis is a distant third. Day 3 for me, that 13 day stretch has def moved me forward, got a great sleep last night and have not had to suffer any withdrawal or cravings.

Ah Jake, your youth is keeping you safe. I would be more concerned if you were my age (60).
