Jake
Hope to catch up with you tomorrow, take good care of yourself

Re: The First 7 Days
All the best Jake, hope you can get back on track.
I completed day 7 by getting through Sunday. The first time I've been dry for a full week in about ten years. Not as bad as I was expecting. I struggled briefly on Friday but on the whole, I've been keeping myself occupied so as not to think about drinking too much.
Positives: No stomach pains or diarrhoea, better sleep, clear head in morning, more focus at work, have started to run more but shorter distances due to an injury.
Negatives: Although I'm sleeping better, I have been feeling tired during the day, and experiencing headaches. Not noticed any physical changes but not expecting to until at least 4 weeks.
Looking forward to posting on 'the next 2-4 weeks' thread this week!

Re: The First 7 Days
Hi hopeful mum. I last received a message on 7th december. Is that the one? I’m sorry i haven’t replied. I hope you are doing well and sending you hugsxx
Thankyou for the kind thoughts everyone. Has your website for BE been down? I’ve been getting a connection lost error trying to visit the site. Thanks VM, swordie, tog, scottie, And marth
I went to CGL today and i had my welcome meeting. About the third time i’ve used their services. I am drinking 1 bottle of vodka a day and based on that they have said i need a chemical assisted detox. Chlordiazepoxide. I will see how i fayre for the next few days to decide if i want one.
Take care all.
I love you. Jake.

Jake, please listen to these people. If you carry on drinking at that level every day then you will suffer serious withdrawal symptoms if you try to just stop. Do not wait a few days, take immediate help from them.Jake. wrote: ↑18 Jan 2022 17:50

Re: The First 7 Days
Thank you scottie. I have my next appt on 31st when i meet my key worker. I think i’ll try and limit myself to one bottle of strong cider a day. That should be enough. I just want to get the ball rolling now, but know I need to be patient. Friday i’m out with my mum and monday i’m planning on going to the CGL breakfast club. It gives me a focus and something to occupy myself with. As i’m sure You can imagine, i’m not fit for work atm..:

Re: The First 7 Days
Morning Seveners
So glad to see you posting Jake
I am with CGL as well and that sounds like the same detox that I had. I wish that I had been offered it much sooner, in fact it was only offered to me because I asked for it and then kept pushing. I would grab it with both hands if I was ever in the same position again. The medication made the whole process of stopping painless and anxiety free. What happens after that is up to you but I think you can stop. Have you told anyone apart from CGL about what is happening and how you are feeling?
Glad to see you posting Hopeful mum, please reach out if you need help from us or from health services
Sorry not to do a roll call but sending my best to everyone
