Thank you Trina. How is the road trip? Please do post an account for me to read. I’m missing the open road this year.

Much love

Hello, I think I may be alone in posting on this thread? Not to worry  I'm at day 32 today so can safely say, I think, I'm moving on to month two.

Well done on your progress Martha. Think this thread and the next are empty. Maybe you would like to join the 100 day challenge. There are a few folk in there.

Hi martha and Rose. Just peeking around the corner. Any room in here for another? Couple of AF days to go.

Looking forward to this next challenge.

Hi martha and Rose and anyone else who happens to be here at this point in time.

I'm moving in to the 3 month thread. I know there is the 100 day challenge but this worked for me before so I am going to retrace my steps and perhaps find some meaning in my life and figure out why the hell I feel it necessary to dull my feelings and body with alcohol. I'm feeling really good on this day in particular because I managed a birthday celebration without drinking. All of my adult children took time from their busy lives and made the effort to call their old man. Who needs presents when that happens. It was the best present of all to hear from them. They are far away living their own lives but made time for me. Feels wonderful and I can enjoy it to the fullest sober.

The first 4 weeks are indeed a challenge and I feel grateful to my higher self for pushing my ego aside and allowing me to see the way through this first challenge. But there is more - much more - to do as my personal journey towards permanent abstinence continues. I know that I am going to be tested during this next couple of months and I am looking forward to sharing these experiences (and exchanging support) with my fellow 3 monthers. I will need to have my sober toolbox stocked and make sure that I do not become complacent in my sobriety. That is so key.

Sometimes life can seem boring - with or with out alcohol - but it sure beats the alternative does it not? This time around I intend to find some excitement to my days that alcohol can never ever provide. There is so much to do in my neck of the woods and I intend to plow forward and live a solitary and sober life. I would say wish me luck but there really is no luck involved - is there? It's all in my capable hands.

Have a great AF day all. Cowboy.

Hi Rose. That must be really tough to watch. You hang in there and we are always around if you end up posting later. I check in quite frequently and hang around these parts a bit. There is also the Late Lounge where people from all around post and can provide support. I'm thinking of you tonight. Take care.
