Morning anyone? How is the weekend ahead looking? I have a full day of work, feeling under the weather (spent yesterday in bed) but soldiering on. Looking forward to yummy edible treats at the end of the day - everyone else will be drinking fizz but not I, oh no.

I hope you’re feeling a bit better today Mooths. <:)>
It’s just that time of year I guess, every client I’m visiting atm has coughs, colds, chest infections. I should have a cast iron immune system but I don’t.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend. <:)>

Thanks for checking in on me, Fiz. I have survived the weekend but have to admit I’m flagging now. Hope I rally as another frantic week kicks into gear! So good to see you powering on into your second year of sobriety.

Morning Mooths.
Sorry to hear your flagging, get some extra vit c into you, I also have honey on natural yogurt, that seems to help pull me around. Of course I suppose the sensible thing is to just go to bed and drink loads of water, but if you’re like me, you just keep going. get well soon hinny. <:)>

Still here, still sober - and feeling better. Frantic times at work, so have been absent from the boards for a few days, but thinking of y’all.

Thanks, Fiz! I hope you have a lovely weekend - it’s lovely to have a crisp, clear Saturday at least (well down in London, at least). Going to a birthday party in a cocktail bar this evening, which will be fun but certainly sober for me.

Oh, and I just realised I hit 11 months sober today!

Hope you’re having a lovely weekend, Fiz. What’s it like ‘on the other side’, as a beyonder?

Morning Mooths, you sound very positive, keep it up, you’re smashing it. Well done on 11 months. (::) ;)?
It’s nice to be here Mooths, sometimes I still can’t believe I made that year, when I think how Ill I was, I sometimes feel a little “lost” not sure where to turn next, but, I protect my sobriety like a lioness would protect her cubs, I never want to go back to where I had let myself plummet too.
The advice I got, about targeting 2 year was good advice, I’m just working towards that now, I’ve already ticked off 4 weeks of my second year, I have started to feel like my mind is getting calmer, if that makes sense? I was always anxious, hurrying, even thoughts were rushed, I feel slower, more relaxed, long may it last.
I hope you enjoyed your party, and enjoy even more, waking up, feeling fresh. 👍 it’s -3 here just now.
Keep flying that 1 year flag Mooths, it’s a lovely place to be. 🥰

Flying the flag, yes! I have done a lot of explaining recently - explaining why I’ve chosen sobriety, that is. Got the patter quite slick now and nobody is able (or inclined?) to argue me out of it. It is good to feel confident now about the decision. I often think back to the early days spent agonising over how long I planned to keep going. Once I decided (after 100 days, I think it was) that I was in it for the long haul everything felt clearer and calmer. Of course, there are still occasional pangs of regret and alcohol will probably always hold some allure but the more I deny it to others the stronger I feel in my determination never to slip back into destructive habits.

Bit of a long one from me tonight.

Fantastic post Mooths, sums up that 1 year feeling to a tee. ;)? You sound very comfortable on your sober path. \:)/
I love that 100 day thread, I think first it really was a kick start, that got me wanting more, then I found the last one hundred so satisfying to complete. I may jump on that thread again next year. ;)?

Yes, good idea! I am always thinking 'whither next?' 100 days feels like a good springboard into a sober 2020.

Appropriately enough, it's New Year's Eve, so 1st Jan 2020 officially marks the start of my second year sober. 27 days to go!

Hello, dearest Fiz, and thanks for checking in. I am doing well! Have completed an unprecedented amount of Christmas shopping already - usually have a mad rush in the final week before Christmas. And got my glasses fixed. What on earth has got into me?

Hi Mooths. I took a leaf out of your book today, and had a bit of a pamper, hair done, the lot. ;)?
I’m going away up to Scotland for Christmas with some friends, looking forward to a bit time out from the rat race. <:)>

Morning, Fiz! Good for you: self-care is not self-indulgence but a necessary part of a healthy/balanced life.
Today (Election Day!) is day 345 for me. Not long to go now...
