Well done, SS (a bit belatedly). Hopefully you are finding it much easier now? They say after 6 months your brain becomes more like a 'normal' (non-addicted) one.

Well just one week until I come over here. Funny 25th August was my original start date until I decided to drink half a dozen times so I would ha e been in to my 12th month. Anyway I’m still glad I’m moving into my 9th month, which is no mean feat. I see I will be in good company so I’m looking forward to coming across <:)>

Thanks guys. I just saw in my diary August 25th sober anniversary. Unfortunately I drank 6 times after that until my quit date 10th November. Tbh though it feels like it’s nearing 12 months in terms of my positive state of mind. So I’m hot on your heels Jj, having been there and done that no complacency here, I know only too well if we allow the shutters of permission to come down that wine will jump right back in, trust me it will. No more two years sober and relapsing here......god willing <:)> <:)>

Wow leslans nearly a full year for you that’s awesome.
Day 317 here so proud of my achievement and feels normal now. I know that I need to always be mindful of early signs of relapse and to look after myself but feel strong and positive at the moment. Out for a big dinner tonight with friends who know I’m off alcohol so no worries there. They are brilliant friends and looking forward to it so much.
Trying open water swimming again I’ve bought myself a tow float so I can be seen and also so I can have a wee rest if I get tired. Had a great day yesterday and looking forward to trying it again today.
If only I didn’t have to go back to work as I realise that’s where most of my stress comes from. Is 51 too early to retire?
Have a great day.
JJ
