Hellooo, all. Getting kinda quiet in here. Did anyone UK-based hear today’s Woman’s Hour about latent drinking problems among middle class women? Worth a listen:

So I passed 8 months couple days ago - thought it was 9 but no, got my fingers out to check :)
These last couple of months have been slow but hey, there’s no race.
I shall be getting up shortly, house is pretty much in order, time to do stuff without pressure and I’m looking forward to the day. No going back!

185 days today. Hanging on in there. Lots of running to keep my brain fresh. How are you doing Macintosh getting much riding done.
2 weeks to 200 days which is my next goal. I was careful not to have 6 months as a big goal as that was the extent of my previous challenge. Already passed it pleased to say no thoughts of a reward glass of fizz. Feeling okay about it all actually despite all the social media efforts to make us feel different.
Keep on guys.

:\:
Day 206
Crazy times.Good to see you around Jj. Not been a great week, really missing the swimming. Was diagnosed with COPD right at the start of lockdown which was unexpected so trying to stay home as much as possible.
Horses at the yard are on full livery so only seeing them once in a blue moon.
Issues with OH hard to understand what goes on in his mind, the more I think about it the more I can see what some have said that it's abuse. He pushes and pushes until I snap and then he's sweet sickly nice....makes me nauseous. My mental health is suffering, it's so sad as I have come so far in the past 6 months. To make matters worse I reached out to someone close and her response was I don't know how to help and that was it, nothing not even a hi how are you for 4 days.
I've realised that I have to do this on my own noone really give a shit and even your shadow leaves you in the darkness.

That sounds so tough Macintosh it must be hard not having your swimming and horses. Can you get to the horses or is it a no no with having to self isolate? If not can you go for a long walk somewhere with birdsong at a point when your husband is getting on top of you. Make it your time? My dogs are everything to me at the moment and even though we can’t compete at the moment I’m out with them everyday either running or training. I’m on my own as my boys are shielding due to my husbands health problems and my frontline high risk work.
Sorry about your friend not being there for you that’s not fair. I’ll be your wee shadow only three weeks behind. One thing for sure your shadow is still there when you step back out of the darkness into the sunshine. Lots of love. JJ

Morning Macintosh
Up early and off to work. Will go for a run with dogs before day 187. A lovely neighbour dropped off a food parcel for me including a bottle of white wine my old poison. It’s fine - on the wine wrack next to the port!!! Not tempted to rink it. Enjoying the rocky road and the pasta very much though!!!
Have a good day

Hi there Macintosh and anyone else looking in. A reflective and calm day today off work. Lie in nice breakfast coffee in the garden and a wee bit of digging and planting. Gardening was to be my new hobby this year and covid has helped that. Then painted some rainbows and did some Lego. Also listening to a good audio book series the seven sisters on audible. Out with dogs and training rather than running today it was a beautiful evening. So greatful for so many small things. Back to work tomorrow and that’s difficult but days like today help with resilience.
Day 189
Slowly edging towards my next goal of 200 days.
Take care lovely people.
Mackintosh I hope the sunshine is lifting your spirits.

Hope all ticking on Macintosh?

Day 192 helps me hugely to document and keep track.
The 8pm weekly clap is hugely moving and means so much for those of us working in the NHS. Also helps to feel connected with my family away to shield.
Hope you are well Macintosh. Are you feeling a bit brighter.
