Good morning March hares
I’ve been on the 100 day kickstart but it was getting a bit lonely there so I wondered if I could join you? I’m on day 49 now (excluding a couple of blips earlier in March) so am feeling pretty chuffed with myself! The longest I’ve gone AF for many years.

Hi Angelica :\: Huge well done on 45 days \:)/ That's awesome!
And thanks Squirrel ;)?
It's nice having a few threads to be posting on.
I've made it through today just about. Am feeling really tired and drowsy tonight. Going in not coming down with something. I haven't got time to be ill!

Have a good evening guys x

Hi Angelica sounds like you are doing really well. Yes it seems quiet across all the threads at the moment. I'm on the longest I've been for years too although I can't pretend I've not been sorely tempted. Anyway one day at at time and today is not the day to drink! Grrr - getting stroppy with myself now - sometimes it works :lol2: Have a good day everyone

Not a perfect March for me :( But better than all the other months of the year so far. So still my favourite month of this year - and the last 3yrs at least ;)

Yes I’m with you all on sober April, but actually doing sober spring. I know the date when spring ends but it’s not set in my mind as the end of April would be, and there is an end date but not as rigid as the end of a month. Joined a self help group on zoom as I was struggling with the constant lockdowns as so many of us are and agreed to set myself this challenge. The good thing about the group is that you set a different challenge every 2 weeks so you’re not constantly reminded of it and it then becomes a struggle. My secon challenge was to say NO as I’d overwhelmed myself with doing too much, mainly voluntary work, but the two challenges work together (::)

Stay strong everyone and carry on not drinking alcohol ;)?

Hi Bubbles 4 months is fantastic. I would be interested to know a bit about how you've got there...your story if you are happy to share. I've been a heavy drinker most of my adult life and have had some success with reducing and periods of abstinence. I've just completed Lent and hope to keep going.
Spats I'm with you re lockdown. I felt like this last one broke me. The first one I was alcohol free jogging and spending loads of time in the sunshine. This one I barely moved from my sofa if it wasn't for my dog I wouldn't of ventured outside and my alcohol consumption crept up and up. I am grateful I have been able to turn it around over Lent. I think I might join you for sober spring that sounds like a good period of time. If I think in terms of forever I feel like I'm just setting myself up to fail, better to break it down untill I have a good long period under my belt.

Anyway I hope everyone has had a lovely Easter Sunday. The weather has been glorious here and my son had his first football match in months was lovely to watch him.

So 1 week into April and how is everyone doing?
A bit flat here. Really lacking motivation in all areas of my life....job studies the massive list of things to do around the house. I know it will pass but very wearying.
Ive got a few episodes of Line of Duty to watch so am going to immerse myself in that wotld for a while.

It's very quiet here but I am wishing anyone who passes through well.

Hi Truestate,
With you there, sometimes things just seem to stack up and seem insurmountable don’t they.
I have to keep reminding myself to just concentrate on one thing at a time ... baby steps. Especially at the beginning of sobriety it’s essential to be kind to yourself <:)> I hope you settled in and watched Line of Duty. <:)>

That's very true Action. I think it's partly I am exhausted at the moment. I slept quite a lot and feel better for it.bI could also do with a period of continuous sunshine. That does wonders for my motivation.

I hope everyone is ok <:)>
