Hi all

Day 26 for me.

I had to go to A&E last night as the pain my side was just too painful. So, after spending the past few years thinking this pain was my liver it is actually a complication from my gallbladder surgery. I'm going back tomorrow for scans and treatment. It was great for once when my bloods came back clear. Normally I'm told my enzymes are high and asked if I drink everyday.

Wishing everyone a wobbly free night

x

Hi alll
That’s good news about the bloods phoebe and day 26. (::) hope they manage to sort the pain and get you on the mend.
\:)/ to everyone else - hope you are having a good week.

Took a step forward tonight as invited to early drinks with a neighbour - wanted to be more sociable but not sure I wouldn’t drink so didn’t commit . At the last minute I took myself , my AF wine and the dog and said ypopping on my way out with the dog. Once we had settled down I didn’t even think about the alcohol as I had my drink as well .so stayed a short while & felt ok and left by which time witching hour was over yippee.

Day 38 ... and shields up for the weekend

Back here again tomorrow \:)/
It was busier when I was here before. I think everyone has graduated but hopefully some people are about.

I am still going, on day 26, equalled my 2nd personal best for the fourth time. Aiming for 37 days a week of Saturday for my all time best and then hopefully into uncharted alcohol free territory, just better avoid having a drink to celebrate.

Yes Woodstock stay positive,

I am on the approach of saving what I would have spent on drink as saving anyway for a new car, that and being on here has made this attempt different this time. I don't want to break my number of days or effect my savings.

I have been analysing diaries over the last 5 years as worried about my health as well although I feel fine.

I worked out I spend between 65-75% throughout the year not drinking based on days, involving days trying to stop or in bed hungover! So at least giving the liver a chance to repair.

Be good everyone

Patrick

Hi all :\:

Lovely to see you Woodstock... that’s a far few days under your belt now & that’s a good record Patrick.

It’s the staying stopped that’s difficult for me - had a few stints over the last few years but sadLy keep relapsing & its harder to get back to it . The relentless washing machine cycle
Moving between here & next thread to have some company

Have a good day tomorrow

Day 10
Forgot to post yesterday which perhaps was a good thing as it meant I wasn't thinking of drinking!?
Good to see you Musty, the washing machine cycle is familiar with me too  but you're doing well. We can only keep trying :D
Patrick the longest AF stretch isn't far away (::)
It's great to get encouragement on here and as Patrick says you want to keep the days notching up

Hi all,

I admit I am finding it hard as bank holiday (UK), not as doing much but its the habit I usually have more than weekends.

Looking further ahead, football (not as that into football) Euros in summer if I can make it that long, habit of having a drink watching and I cannot stop when I start, that is my problem, not regular drinking.

Anyway for now I am pleased at 30 days, second best ever in my adult live.

Be good

Patrick

Life not live, trust me people I know or in fact used to know, have had some bizarre inappropriate messages over the years but that's another thread or one of my many drunken stories ha

Thanks Jake.

Weekend till now has been ok 👍
Tougher test today though as Sunday is my ‘favourite’ drinking day and footie is on later. Maybe a day for plodding along and then feeling so chuffed I stuck to it in the morning!

I’m sending you positive vibes! You’ll feel amazing tomorrow knowing you stayed sober.

I just went to an online meeting, cooked an early lunch too. Been filling my face lol.

Have a great sunday!

Hi Jake
Vibes certainly helped: did not drink during an amazing Liverpool win! So 2 victories 😁
