Morning, everyone.

Day 21 or 3 weeks here \:)/ I'm pleased about that but still generally feeling a bit low. I have a night out for Christmas with friends tomorrow and definitely do not want to drink. It's weird ...often in such cases I'd be looking for excuses to drink, but now I'm thinking of excuses not to drink. I think I will have to feign illness and stick to the soft drinks.

On my way out the door to a Xmas dinner and dance, sort of looking forward to it as I like the people going, sort of not because I just don’t have the bloody energy. Going anyways so wish me luck.

This is feeling more of a chore than I thought. I want to get a bottle of wine and chill with my daughter. I have got in to my pj's and not gone and got it but my brain is "oh yes you have the school fayre tomorrow so you can win wine or beer on the bottle tombola. Then tomorrow you can treat yourself. " Seem to be fighting this off a lot. Although have got to day 12. Good to see Wilson still here.
Good luck for those of you going out tonight, you can do this.

I believe congratulations are in order Wilson in more ways than one. A wonderful time for you to enjoy 😊. I have a friend called Wilson.........he’s a water tower with grass growing out of the top of him. He lives in Spain and a drive past him when I go over there, reminds me so much of Wilson. I will take a photo for you when I’m next there 😎

Day 27 for me. Still feeling a bit low, not sure why, guess it’s just part of the condition, plus my daughter being away for six months is sinking in. A bit tearful here and there. I confided with a friend about my situation. I’ve never really talked to my girlfriends about alcohol, I’ve kind of fudged it saying it’s to do with anxiety. No one really knows the full extent of my drinking as a lot of the bad stuff was at home, I was just the life and soul.....the funny one. I think it kind of shows my commitment to this as it closes another door if you get what I mean. I need to close a few others so I don’t go back to drinking.

Anyway I need to get grateful and think positively. I’ve another good day planned. I’ve decorated a Christmas Tree for our local church Christmas Tree festival. No I’ve not made it in to the WI yet, I just like doing stuff. I’m going down to the festival today to take a look which may get me into the Christmas mood instead of wallowing around and feeling sorry for myself.

Have a good day folks. Stick with it, especially you my friend Wilson......... <:)> <:)>

Made it through last night, had a cocktail handed to me as I walked through the door, I passed it on to someone who had finished theirs but was commenting on how good they were. Then at the dinner table I had a glass of wine poured for me, I just ignored it and drank the water - which to be fair they did keep coming round and topping up. After dinner there was a DJ but most people just stood round talking, I lasted till 1.30am  (I have not seen that time in the morning in a loooonnggg time ;) ) I drove two others home and collapsed into bed. I’m glad I went it was nice but it wasn’t an ‘oh so amazing’ night and I’m glad I haven’t got any more Xmas dos planned. For some very unfair reason I have woken up with a banging headache that paracetamol isn’t shifting :(
