Oh I do like that WW ;)? Such a simple thing just saying "hi" or "hello" to someone but it really does make all the difference ;)?

I was going to say the same thing , TC . That it's a nice quote . Just a small 'hi' or 'hello' , 'good morning' is important . Sadly these days , or maybe it's just where I live ,people lack in manners .

So here's a :\: 'hi' and a :) to you weewillie, for giving these nice quotes out .
' Normal ' is just a setting on the washing machine .

They do here too Pickles :( I've spoken to people and been blanked on many occasions  There's a marked difference though between in the town and out of it. I find out on my walks it's totally different. People nearly always speak and smile. It really does make such a difference (and costs nothing).

Hi, thank you for your welcome replies, I really am pleased you like them, I get a great deal out of them myself.

The "Say Hi to Someone"! yep, if not all but gone, it's fast falling out of fashion, shame really.
Some do respond, but some look at you as if you look a bit suspicious.
We're fortunate, it's very friendly where we live, apart, of course, from the odd grumpy old so-and-so. On saying that, however, me better half was stared at suspiciously recently, a new middle age couple moved in a few doors away. She, my wife, was taking our little dog on her morning exercise. Walking towards the new neighbour's house as they opened their garden gate to go inside.
She said hello, the neighbour simply looked at her with a bland face, closed the gate and continued towards her house.
Perhaps they consider their house much superior than ours. Strange that, their house is a replica of ours. :D

I'm not sure if this is really true however, we've heard over the years that London is a place you simply do not say "hello or hi" to anyone at all.

Pickles40,thank you and a "Hi" to you also. :\:

weewillie. :)

Rachel, I love Camus here is another one

I've wanted to live according to everyone else's morals. I've forced myself to live like everyone else, to look like everyone else. I said what was necessary to join together, even when I felt separate. And after all of this, catastrophe came. Now I wander amid the debris, I am lawless, torn to pieces, alone and accepting to be so, resigned to my singularity and to my infirmities. And I must rebuild a truth - after having lived all my life in a sort of lie."

I don't feel I have lived my life as a lie but I do understand this quote, mainly on the pretense that we do try to fit in sometimes when we should always just be ourselves, and accept who we are.
