Day 48, hitting the 7 weeks mark tomorrow.
Have a good Friday all !
That’s amazing Serend! Great stuff. My I AM SOBER app’s quote of the day is “MY SUPERPOWER IS STAYING SOBER”.

We can do this. ;)?

Edit: Reading The Sober Diaries by Clare Pooley. I just read this, which made me laugh, especially after today’s quote in my app.
When you drown your problems with booze they don’t go away, they just get forgotten for a bit, fester and get worse, like mouldy bits of cheese that children have dropped down the gaps between car seats. Then your inability to deal with them effectively destroys your confidence even more. It’s like you’re Superman and someone’s stuffed Kryptonite down your pants

Morning all <:)>
Checking in, say 54 (or 78) here.
Everyone seems ok, are you all ok?
I’ve got up this morning and actually feel ok for a change ;)? Not sure why, but not going to question it.
Going for a swim this morning, then possibly present wrapping this afternoon :?
Really not feeling Christmas at all this year, but I am looking forward to the time off work.
What’s everyone else up to?

LBNS - great to hear from you.
Enjoy the day my lovely, and have a great swim.
Don’t over do it and tire yourself! I always do that...so that’s a bit pot calling kettle black isn’t it :?
Christmas is a difficult one isn’t it ... I feel mixed about it. It’s going to be very different with bubbles v baubles and sobriety. I need to get some wrapping paper, want to get recyclable paper if I can...

I’ve got a bit of online Christmas shopping to do and cards to write, sausage rolls to bake.
Walk the dog (it’s actually sunny out there at the moment).

Hi All,

Hasn’t it been a grey miserable day. I turned my outside Christmas lights on this morning just for a bit of cheer, even though you couldn’t see them that well. Psychologically it helped.

Well, it’s official - today I have reached 12 weeks. Apparently I can join the 6 month thread now, which I’ll do tomorrow but I will hang about round here like a bad smell for a bit. :lol2:

Well that's me on 12 weeks too, so I'll be officially joining you.

Hope all is well with everyone. Not posted much this week as I have been busy trying to fit in cycling around everything else!

Take care everyone. Post later in the week.

Checking in
Day 56 (or 80)
Woo hoo! \:)/ I believe 56 is 8 weeks!
I would never have imagined that 6 months ago!
I am plodding through today, this morning was hard, didn’t want to get up, didn’t want to work, getting overwhelmed again.... I did wonder if I’m a bit depressed, but in reality I don’t think I am, as I could be absolutely fine tomorrow
Life eh?

Hi LBNS, Serend, MH and all,

LBNS - big hugs. This grey weather is enough to drive anyone to despair. I too have been waking up feeling quite blue the last couple of days.
I deliberately did a meditation to make me cry yesterday in order to relieve some built of stress and frustration. I always seem to cry if I follow a guided meditation but it really helps and I feel so much calmer afterwards - like I've purged myself. I have no inclination to cook tonight so might dig deep into the freezer and cook a pizza - I don't care. Raspberries to blue moods eh. <:)> Do you remember 'The Phantom Raspberry Blower' on tv ... I'm going to have to look it up now. ...

5 minutes later I found this. Its not the Two Ronnies who did it originally but it made me laugh and now I think I am going to blow raspberries at stress. :lol2: I'm not childish :lol2:

Morning on Day 53 for me \:)/
Action I felt quite like you yesterday, quite emotional, yoga helped last night, but going to try and eat a bit more healthily and drink more water today, see if that helps, have a good day everyone here !

Morning Peeps! :\:

I think that’s the way forward Serend. When things get tough be kind and gentle with yourself! Did I post the little daily self care check list? I’m still using mine as often as possible. I’ll repost it or post it, it’s quite a handy reminder of the things you can do ... including drink plenty of water. <:)>

Well, the weather’s a bit grey again but as opposed to counting down the days to Christmas I’m counting down the days to the shortest day in the year (21st) so we can start looking forward to longer days. ;)? \:)/

Have a good day everyone.
