Re: The Next 2 - 4 Weeks

No. But perhaps soon. Listen guys... I first used this forum in 2011. I'm not sure how long I stuck with it for. I'm tempted to say I used the forum for a year but perhaps it was longer. I was a mod for a while. (I'm not any more, as you may have guessed.) I found the forum really useful back then a...

Re: The Next 2 - 4 Weeks

Yes, I mainly drank alone. I'd even go on pub crawls by myself, with a book. But then I started to get agoraphobic so I'd get a case of cans with the grocery shop instead.

Re: The Next 2 - 4 Weeks

Phew! I thought I'd said something wrong and got paranoid. I am not at all well. I have a phone appointment with a psychological service on Sunday but that seems a very long time away. Previously I had been dealing with my mood by watching films which I was quite enjoying. Now I just can't seem to e...

Re: The Next 2 - 4 Weeks

I'm pretty OK in the night. It's weird, because loneliness *is* a thing with me now but I don't feel it too much in the night. For almost two decades I was alone but not lonely. Then a woman came into my life, which was great. And now she's gone I do feel alone AND lonely. Because of the lockdown, I...

Re: The Next 2 - 4 Weeks

Well done Rose!

Thank you, Debsuyar.

I seem to have settled into an odd pattern of going to bed around 7am and getting back up at 2pm. I do not intend to live this way forever but I'll stick with it for now as it's what my body seems to find useful.

Re: The Next 2 - 4 Weeks

Thank you, Debs. I have had more eggs on more toast since the last post. The soup/broth sounds very nice but I will have to make do with what I have in the house as the next shopping delivery could be some way off.

Re: The Next 2 - 4 Weeks

My peculiar body experience continues. Yesterday I had only one meal - 2 fried eggs on two slices of toast. I haven't eaten today. Still don't feel hungry.

Re: The Next 2 - 4 Weeks

Like losing a lover, time heals all wounds. Well, I hope that's true because losing a lover is the cause of my torment right now. That said, if she said she wanted to get back with me I'd be in a very tricky situation as I'm not at all sure it would be the right thing, despite my being heartbroken....

Re: The Next 2 - 4 Weeks

Thank you for the replies about eating and a schedule. I know I need to get there at some point. My habit currently has to be that I only sleep when my body cries out for it. Research has shown that sleep deprivation temporarily lifts depression and I find it a useful tool to provide relief. I had a...

Re: The Next 2 - 4 Weeks

Bizzy, I would say don't drink. You're going to have to come to terms with social situations without drinking at some point and it seems to me that being forced to try this out over a video call might actually be kind of perfect. It's almost like circumstances have given you a way to be semi-social ...

Re: The Next 2 - 4 Weeks

Had a very strange experience the last 48 hours. I had a pizza Monday night. Tuesday I didn't eat anything. Today I only ate at about 11pm. And you may think "well, there's lots of reasons one can lose their appetite." Although I've been depressed, though, I didn't feel like this had anything to do ...

Re: The Next 2 - 4 Weeks

It is a great title for a book :)

Day 19 for me.

I feel very depressed but, perhaps strangely, it's not really making me more prone to drink. I suppose if I were anxious that would be more likely to make me crave.

I'm waiting for the Dominic Cummings statement to come on the telly and hope to get a snarky tweet out of it.

Re: The Next 2 - 4 Weeks

Weekend ain't over yet! Bank holiday tomorrow. Not that it makes much odds for many of us in the current UK craziness. It's past midnight, so I'm technically on day 17. Had a pretty rubbish day. The mental fallout from my relationship ending is still prodding me in the brain on a consistent basis. M...

Re: The Next 2 - 4 Weeks

I once trained a Muslim how to do my job. He was a great bloke and we had a lot of laughs.
