Re: Interesting Quote I Saw Today
That is a good quote OE. I have found living in the moment that is now is so helpful. The past is gone. The future is the undiscovered country. I cannot change the past. I can nudge the future sometimes, well make a guess and try for the future I want, but I can only do it in this moment - now. I like now. If it is crappy then I can let it go, let it become history. If it is good I can hold it close and take it forward into the next now. That is choice and we can only make a choice right now.
An Inuit story. An old man is talking to his grandson: 'Inside me are two dogs fighting: a black one and a white one.` `Which one will win?' asks the boy. 'The one I feed'

Hi Dave, glad you like it too - what you wrote leads me into another favourite, which I found in one of the Chopra meditations about manifestation a couple of years ago:
As is your desire, so is your intention
As is your intention, so is your will
As is your will, so is your deed
As is your deed, so is your destiny
Just another way of saying we are masters of our own destiny really... But I like the way it is broken down

As is your will, so is your deed
As is your deed, so is your destiny
Just another way of saying we are masters of our own destiny really... But I like the way it is broken down

Re: Interesting Quote I Saw Today
Yes, OE. That is absolutely it for me. It does need breaking down into those steps though because we often bomb out in the middle. 'As is your will, so is your deed' has been my weak link. No more. I take full responsibility for my destiny and with it comes responsibility for my deeds, but they are what I will them to be and I do not deliberately will wrong things. Best I can do but it feels OK. Not perfect, just a boring old human, but best will in the world intended. Mr Conscience tells me when I fall short.
Then I laugh a bit and try for a better destiny. Well, nobody is perfect but no harm in upping your game a bit. Not saying I do, just claiming to try. Sometimes. Occasionally.

From AA Daily Reflections ' The Identification that one alcoholic has with another is mysterious, spiritual, almost incomprehensible.' This applies to BE forum too I think. I often get huge emotional support from reading posts.

Good quote OE and you too George. Despite my dismissiveness I recognise the point of view.

sorry to be a smart a**e but I was just reading about tree climbing fish the other day
but I know what you mean - its a good point - Einstein should have used the old fish riding a bike thing - he probably didn't know about fish climbing trees (or would that be tree climbing fishes

That's a good quote unicorn - it's so true and I never thought of it in that way - sounds like 'chasing the dragon' too.
