Photobucket is where I reduce the size of my pictures so they will fit as an avatar...

I know you posted recently about clearing internet history to remove cookies and displayed adverts. That operation will also clear your saved login details, so I think that periodic login may be unavoidable, unless someone else can confirm otherwise.
clearing cookies will usually wipe stored passwords, but I think CC Cleaner which is a Windows software does allow you to choose exactly what you delete and leave passwords... I think Pickles was on a tablet though so prob not Windows.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before or if this is not the right thread. If you use gmail, and use google for searching, you may want to disable google search history:

https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/465?hl=en" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I never log onto here or search for alcohol related stuff at work, but I do check my personal email. So when I typed the name of my town into google, looking for something innocent, it suggested recent searches like "<town name> alcohol addiction counselling". None of my colleagues were around but they could easily have been. Of course, you could just not leave yourself signed into personal email -- but I'm not too keen on having all my searches saved anyway!

Thanks for an awesome forum :-)

Useful tool to protect privacy and advert tracking written by ex-google employee

Chrome extension : ( I use this )
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... dfeo?hl=en" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Fire Fox addon
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... isconnect/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I think this is for Microsoft
https://disconnect.me/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; there are free and premuim versions

I don't know if it been told here but my tip is never ever put out exact numbers and names/places on the web, i always lie a bit about age and places but the core of the story is true, in the past i got problems because someone was tracking me down.

And if u want to email use an encrypted service like https://tutanota.com/, normal mail is very easy to read...gmail and other mail services even scan your email and that just don't feel good.

Also is Tor a good browser and more privacy friendly https://www.torproject.org/

I also block many ads within the host file http://www.hosts-file.net/, i almost never see any ad :)

https://noscript.net/ is also good to block stuff.

And also i use HTTPS everywhere for a safe connection: https://www.eff.org/Https-everywhere

Hi Mary Jane, I can't remember writing that :) , I think that was also the time when the site had gone down.

Anyway if you stay on general recovery ,there is a blocked thread called Posting Hints and Tips. It explains all about the avatar and other things . I can't bump it ,but just look at block capitals of the title ,in general recovery .

Hope you find if easy then .

Some helpful advice can be found here - this is the thread Pickles is referring to : POSTING HINTS AND TIPS
"I would rather be a non-drinker with the occasional desire to drink, than a drinker with the constant desire to quit."

Learn from other's mistakes, you won't live long enough to make them all by yourself.

Hiya Folks

Anyone tell me how to put a line on my posts with a ditty underneath, for example Topcat has the ditty "Today is our most precious possesion"
The further away from the last drink we travel the easier it becomes
